And finally: Tapir Tummy Rubs
Deb G. shares this important video about tapirs. Apparently, they’re total love sponges.
โClearly food was involvedโ ๐คฃ๐๐คฃ๐๐คฃ
OK new thing added to the “things to do before I die” give a tapir belly rubs!
Nugget and his emotional support potatoes! ๐๐ฅ
I want to pet a tapir…
Yay–I knew y’all would love the tapirs!
I’m glad Bernice got the help she needed. Looking forward to support spuds and a chunky skwerl.
If you want more tapirs, and you’re on Facebook, go to Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium’s page. They have multiple videos of the new baby tapir getting scritches, napping, etc.
I couldn’t bear to watch without being able to touch that little watermelon!
I don’t know if I will even get to the other ones because now I am flopping down and demanding belly rubs like a tapir.
I have a friend with a fluffy tuxedo cat that does the tapir flop. She likes it when you play her tummy like a bongo.

I know that they’re not but Tapirs always look like starter elephants to me. Add water and they’ll get bigger and their noses will get longer….
“starter elephants” ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Thank goodness Bernice got a happy ending.
I never knew tapirs were that big. I always pictured something cat sized.
These stories were so needed today after the time change. Nugget and his potatoes. ๐๐๐ One comment on YouTube had me cracking up, and very appropriate considering next week is St. Patrick’s Day – “He was obviously a potato farmer during the Irish potato famine in a past life.” Uhmmm, someone needs to tell Bernice that you break OUT not break IN to jail. What a unique friendship with a squirrel. Okay, tapirs are like oversized capyberras or puppies. Never knew they liked scritches and belly rubs.
Ms. Bonita made my day. So did darling Nugget with his spudcuddling ways. RIP dear Nugget–you made lots of people very happy.
Cat loving potatoes has got to be the weirdest pet thing I ever heard!
Mama ground squirrel is 11!? That back yard must be a very safe place. The little babies were adorbs๐. Didnโt like the commenters who ragged on her weightโsheโs preggers in most of the video!
Didnโt realize tapir tummy rubs were a thing๐
Potato cat made me think of this therapy dog who brought his human mysteriously-sourced potatoes when she was sad.
