And finally: You Can Do It!
Dana D. brings us determination in bird form.
That baby goose-ling! So many tries. This should be shown to kids who are struggling, that with time and persistence they will win!
I’m sure the parents would’ve had an opinion but I would be so tempted to walk over, scoop up that baby, and drop him on the soft ground covering
I know! At first I was thinking, “why doesn’t the camera person help him?!” but then I realized the two adults might have something to say about that.
The parents would DEFINITELY have opinions. I learned last year, around this time, that Canada geese do not want people around their babies. I was out walking, there was a family on my path, and the parents were not going to let me past. I had to take a detour!
It’s baby geese and bunny time in my neighborhood. I’m in heaven.
Too much anxiety watching that gosling. I kept thinking, NTMTOM wouldn’t have posted it without a happy ending, but I was still worried.
What a great idea, to show this to kids for encouragement!
Yeah, helping this little guy would absolutely result in losing a finger or two! I cheered when he finally made it. ๐ฅฐ
You can absolutely believe that birds are descendant of dinosaurs when you see one without feathers! And yes he is cute, just like the hairless cats!
I think I was struggling almost as much as the gosling while I was watching the video I was so wanting to help him LOL!
True about the dinosaur thing.
If there is any doubt, just look at a shoebill and tell me that’s not a dinosaur staring back at you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ql4Rj97PAio
The shoebill is THEE most dinosaur bird Iโve ever seen. When you hear the sound it makes it will freak out and take you umpteen millenniums back to the days of dinosaurs. Totally impressive!
Karen the emu from Useless Farm removes all doubt about the dinosaur/bird connection.
I cheered out loud when that gosling finally jumped up the step. You go, little guy!
I would have but I’m at work.
The Olympic water polo team needs those shower hats.
this site is determined to put me off bacon.
whenever I see a hairless animal I automatically want to put a sweater or clothing on it.
I love the cats in shower hats, especially Kiri who doesn’t want to get out of the tub
Her Queen Victoria “we are not amused” face is golden!
They’re hilarious. And so sweet. They have a great life.
Duckie had a bad moult and looked like Blondie for a bit. Deb made her a sweater, which she promptly tried to kill, but it is adorable. Deb, you should make one for Blondie. Duckieโs sweater goes on our Christmas tree every year.
Picture?
When I find it.
I hate sweaters myself so I’m with Duckie.
“They are evil and must be destroyed.”
I have no recollection of this sweater. At all.
Kar, if I made you a sweater, it would probably change your mind!
If you made me a sweater I’d wear it and post photos here.
in general I find them too hot and binding. Especially pullovers, I can’t stand anything close to my neck.
so for me torture is a turtleneck topped off by a tight pullover.
I cannot BELIEVE I once wore turtlenecks! Well, I was very young, but the mere thought of one now is enough to make me start sweating profusely and gag with claustrophobia. ๐ฉ
I wore mock turtle necks once I could choose clothes in my teens.
Hated the tight-around-the-throat feeling๐
The thing about handmade sweaters is they can be anything you want–baggy, v-neck, boat neck, etc.
I used to love wearing turtlenecks; now I can barely stand a necklace. V-necks for me!
At the same time, I appreciate gorgeous sweaters. Just because I can’t wear them (comfortably) doesn’t mean I can’t admire them.
So true!
psst, [whispers] * Duckie, I think it was me that knitted the sweater. * ๐
[ack – tried to insert link to picture here and it didn’t work]
I could swear you sent a picture, but maybe I’m making that up.
I think Tara’s right–I remember she knitted something for Duckie and lil Duckie.
Tara, you are probably right. AHEM. Everyone, Tara made the sweater for Duckie.
wow – and you put it on your Christmas tree? โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ That is so sweet.
I did find our correspondence – this was way back in good ol’ 2020.
She wouldnโt fit into it anymore. I didnโt realize how big sheโs gotten. So yes, it goes on our tree.
Pic sent to Mike.
And here it is!
We have no bananas for scale. Sorry.
I think the ruler entitles you to a pass. ๐
awwwwwwwwwwwwww
Took me a couple of mins to figure out how it is worn๐ But got it now๐๐ผ
Does Lil Duckie wear it?
No. I choose life. And sheโs too pudgy. But sheโs willing to try and kill it.
I never equated putting clothing on a small creature to hardcore drug/thug life but I guess both are dangerous.
