And finally: Matchinks!

A woman gave her dog a matching hairstyle and now she’s wigging out. (via A9)

OK I don’t think the cat can make it any clearer: “I’m your cat now and I want to live in the house!

I’m glad that the cat made their choices known but kind of concerned what else could be creeping into their vents.

Like a domestic version of ‘Aliens.’

Those teethees on the doggo in the video!! I’m just dying but man she rocking the hair and the glasses like a pro. Wow, that cat distribution system is not taking no for an answer, it’s taking names and kicking down doors (or the ventilation system). It reminds me of Jack Nicholson in The Shining “Here’s Johnny!!!!!” but much cuter. The dogs in the car!!!! That is too much, hope the owner hurried back.

First question in today’s Thrice game:

Clue 1: Teaching kids to think critically about what they see on TV, in 1999 Canada released a PSA about the miniature “House” species of what animal?

    • Kar April 10, 2026 / 11:53 am

wasn’t that the house hippo commercial?

Still want one, along with a miniature giraffe.

WOW. I’ve never seen that before! We need that campaign in the US, starting in the 1980s, and now more than ever.

That’s the first of two I got right on the first try (also the last one). The Disney one wasn’t too bad. But the other questions today, holy cow, like I know anything about physics or ancient egypitian gods. And even if I did, how the heck can I spell the answers correctly?? Love the game but some days the trivia they come up with is so obscure.

Sometimes I’m amused at the misspellings it accepts.

I got four of them. I could only remember one Egyptian god, and it was the wrong one. And then I saw the answer and thought “of course!”

Darn! Looks like I missed the day’s quiz! Do you remember what the clues were about the Egyptian god? Don’t tell me the name! I would have loved to see if I got it the first time.

While I’ve gotten most in 2 or 3, I only got one right the first time so far, and it was weird but also a bit obvious.

They have a stats page (but you’ll see the answers; you can click on them to see the questions, and it gives the percentage of players who got it on that question).
          https://thrice.geekswhodrink.com/stats

          The Egyptian god questions were:

For their similar roles as guides, in syncretic traditions Hermes was merged with what Egyptian god, the father of the water goddess Kebechet? (18%)

Son of Nephthys or sometimes Bast, what guardian god is assisted by the crocodile-lion-hippo hybrid Ammit in his most famous task? (15%)

Not to be confused with the ruler of the underworld, Osiris, what jackal-headed god weighs hearts in the Egyptian afterlife? (18%)

          Missed it (49%)

Thanks! I would have thought it was Thoth based on the 1st question, but figured out it was Anubis on the 2nd. I have been fascinated with ancient Egypt forever, but the lineages of all the gods is super-complicated! Thanks for the link to the stats. *Spock voice: “Fascinating”*
I can see this is something I will enjoy in the days ahead! I appreciate your letting us know about this and your answering my question.

Well, your question is what led to me learning they even have that page, so thank you!
