Before you go in there, I just want you to know how much I respect you. Facing the Water Monster alone takes a lot of courage. Also, could you open a bag of kibble first?

Sometimes I really relate. Not because I don’t want to get wet, necessarily, but it’s just too much work. Because then I have to dry off, and squeegee the shower, and dry my hair (well, I only bother if I’m going out and often just dry the front). Such a pain.
I agree!
Too much work? I hear you. Now I have to take my glasses with me to shave my legs.
As much as I love having nice, clean hair, I always dread when I have to wash it! So time consuming. (Otherwise, I do love having long hair.)
I have long hair, too. Right now it’s just past my shoulder blades. I’ve had it as long as to my hips (but that was ~30 years ago, for a couple years in college). Since I was old enough to decide for myself I’ve never had it shorter than just above my shoulders (my mom did the pixie-cut thing when I was around 4-5. I don’t remember how I felt about it at the time but I don’t think I can pull it off now). I mostly just leave it to its own devices, more or less. It used to be totally straight (and blow-drying mostly it takes out any curl even if I’m not specifically trying to straighten it) but as I’ve gotten older it’s gotten wavier. When it’s not too frizzy I generally like it in its natural state, except for the very front pieces above my face.
Iโm highly amused by how cats deal with the bath/shower๐ Youโve got a few who want to be in the shower with you, a LOT who want to wait somewhere in the bathroom for you to emerge alive and ready to feed them, and then there are the ones who like to hang around on the faucet, corners of the tub, or somewhere, somehow, above the shower!! I love when they fall into the tub and the frantic scrabbles and jumps to be free!
Not a cat but my boy dog always, always is guarding me when I’m in the shower like, you really like that wet stuff?? Has to poke his face in once or twice to make sure I’m still there and didn’t disappear somehow. No, there is not some magical portal that lets me out into another room and no, I didn’t melt and go down the drain. Now on the other hand, I did have one cat that loved to sit on the tub edge between the two curtains and just. watch. I used to call him my peeping tom cat, lol.
