Miri knows where Maru is, I guess.
I absolutely love that she prepared a plate and a spot at the table for Maru, but seeing it empty next to Hana and Kitten Miri is unbearable.
Maru’s spirit will live on forever and I am so grateful for all the joy and laughter that big, fluffy weirdo has given me. ❤️

Right there with you. I could hardly bear to watch the video above. My heart is still crushed.
I read what Mugumogu said about Miri’s unusual behavior after the party, running out to the Cat Flower Bed. It seems reasonable that she did see some presence of Maru there. I’m glad she is at peace with him. More worried now about Hana.
I also love that she got a balloon-print background and put the real balloons in the other room. Stars was also afraid of balloons (she once got a plastic grocery bag caught around her neck and was forever-after afraid of them; after my dad’s birthday one year there was a balloon tied to his chair and she wasn’t seen in the kitchen for three days before my mom figured out why. I think she thought the balloon was a floating bag).
Maru was a friend, making me laugh when I needed it. Thank you for all the nice moments together, you reminded me that every creature can do something useful for other people
So touching that Mugumogu protected Maru from the sun in his frail state. I wonder what the attraction of this flower had for Maru… is it like catnip?
In this video she says it’s a plant called “shaggy soldier“; seems like he doesn’t eat it, he just likes to sniff it. Though it looks to me more like “gallant soldier” (that’s linked from the other page) because it doesn’t look the it has the fuzzy leaves.
