I saw the dog’s story on the news last night, what a good doggy. I hope he gets a big juicy steak as a reward he deserves it!

I once heard wombats described as furry tanks but they forgot to mention they were fast too!

I bet Eyeores owner is kicking himself after hearing his octogenarian mother fell walking his dog.

We don’t know it was the dog’s fault she fell? I’m just glad he stayed with her and got help!

My first thought was that it takes very little to cause a fall, and the older the person walking, the easier it is for a fall to occur. Sometimes bones or joints just fail on their own and cause a fall. I’m glad Eeyore was there to look after his owner’s mother.

That said, I no longer bring Bibi with me when I visit my fall-prone mother, because I don’t want a small dog getting underfoot.

Either way, I think Eeyore did well by looking after grandma once the fall occurred.

I saw it earlier in the day, but the video started with the dog near the officer’s car and I thought she had just randomly come across him. Then I turned on the TV for Jeopardy a few minutes early and caught the ‘feel-good’ story at the end of the news and saw that the husband had actually called the police. Either way, very good boy.

So I was at the bookstore the other night and picked up my We Rate Dogs and Thoughts of Dog calendars for next year. I still had a gift card from last Christmas….

As a dog owner I would start to question what happens at grandma and grandpa’s house.

    • 6Rabbits October 8, 2025 / 5:13 pm

      I thought of that😁

Yes indeed. I mean of course grandparents always spoil the grandkids, but this is over the top!

What happens at Grandma’s stays at Grandma’s.

I am loving all the octopuddle stories of late. And for the record, I’d give anything to hug an octopus. I’ve always wished I could learn to scuba dive, but there’s something about having my nose and mouth plugged up that makes me panic. I’ve tried. Ah well.

One of the key aspects of “high adventure” activities is recognizing one’s limits. Know that you’re smarter than the people who take a basic intro course and then attempt cave diving, and be at peace.

Wise advice, even for this “low adventure” old lady.

Thanks for this comment BFB. 🙂 I’ve always been sad that I can’t overcome the panic. I’m an excellent swimmer and really wish I could stay under the water long enough to see the marvelous things there – even the sharks ;). But you are right, I do know my limits and that is something good too.

    • debg October 8, 2025 / 10:17 am

Same here, except for trying to scuba dive. No way. My shark phobia is the big hangup. But I would LOVE to get to know an octopus.

        Cool! Had no idea!

Or if you have a lisp…

Feisty little Mindy kitten has stolen my soul.

    • debg October 8, 2025 / 10:59 am

Also I love the wunning wombats.

I’d love a hug from an octopus. Or a wombat. Maybe I could sew a large plush octopus with a place for a microwave heating bag.
    Family situation improving slightly.

    • 6Rabbits October 8, 2025 / 5:05 pm

I also would love an octopus hug! I think the swimmers relationship with that octopus is fantastic and heartwarming. I wonder what the leetle suction cups feel like?
An octopus with a heating pad is an awesome idea! I would buy one. My sister got a stuffed octopus when she was around 9. She loved him to pieces—literally! When we look back at pictures
we noticed he only had SIX legs!
I keep looking for the perfect stuffed wombat to snuggle.🥰
I’m so glad the family situation is improving. Having been thru a similar situation in the past, it’s just exhausting and frustrating.

Warmies has a really cute octopus. Just don’t overdo on the warming! Burnt lavender is not a nice smell. Ask me how I know.

Donkey is a lovebug. Too bad his father’s allergic to shirts.

    • debg October 8, 2025 / 6:37 pm

I know exactly what you mean. Imagine going about your day and seeing a donkey and his dad walking down the street.

Wombat zoomies!!! Or should it be woomiez??? I never thought they could run so quickly but they’re just zipping around. Eyeore is the bestest boi. Lab must be so spoiled at Grandma & Grandpa’s house to get that excited. Mindy is turning into a gorgeous void. And those ears! Glad she’s growing into them. Donkey is living his best life and I agree Kar it’s a shame that his dad is allergic to shirts.

    • 6Rabbits October 8, 2025 / 5:06 pm

I am also amazed at the speed!

  8. Dubravkamcvmd October 8, 2025 / 3:42 pm

The octopus video is wonderful! So responsive and interactive and – maybe – affectionate.

    • debg October 8, 2025 / 6:37 pm

I would so love an Egbert friend.

  9. JenDeyan October 8, 2025 / 4:00 pm

I could just cry. That doggo leading the office to the fallen lady is so heartwarming.

    • DEBG October 8, 2025 / 10:04 pm

I love the fallen lady saying “I’m his grandmother.”
