I love these comments on the butterfly wing transplant ๐Ÿคฃ

โ€œImagine only having 1 arm and one day randomly getting abducted by aliens and all they do is give you a new arm and let you go,โ€ wrote one Instagram user. โ€œHis friends are never gonna believe him,โ€ another wrote.

Thanks for the alert about the comments! This makes my heart happy. What is the adhesive I wonder!? It would have to be water proof. Amazing.

I read something a while back that described us as basically being to animals what the fae are to us: long-lived, incredibly powerful beings that dispense boons and curses according to incomprehensible whims. Show them respect and they’ll generally leave you alone. Eat their food and you’ll probably never leave.

    The picture of bliss.

Just realized my picture didn’t post…

It was the one of Carolina-wren’s baby wrapped up in the paw-print blanket.

Love Carolina-wren and her well-dressed tuxie babies!

Also a sassy baby hippo, yelling its defiance to the world, fills my heart with joy. It will probably be even better with sound.

Even with no sound, you can tell that baby hippo is giving off major no f…’s given vibe. And mamma giving it right back, lol. So happy for Carolina-wren and her babies. Absolutely amazing about the butterfly, just blows my mind how they were able to fix it and that it was able to fly afterward.

Now on to day 2 of union work. I was so tired after yesterday, so intense and we’re trying to make these bylaws solid with no room for interpretation later on. So that means parsing every word in every sentence – like what exactly is a member in good standing? What happens if the chief steward on a campus decides to resign, do we hold elections or does the vice steward steps in? What about e-voting? When do we allow that? On and On and On. Le Big Sigh. See you on the other side folks!

I was half expecting mama to stay in the water and lull baby into a false sense of security, and then, when baby wandered too confidently near the edge, mama would lunge out, grab baby in her mouth, and haul him in.

So no actual yelling from the hippos. And I think they’re pygmies, which makes them even cuter.
