As much as I’m cheering for that determined beaver, I’m confused by cars on both sides of the yellow line.
YES! I hadn’t noticed, but now I’m confused too.
I can’t tell if there are other cars behind the truck on the wrong side. Maybe they pulled over to block the lane?
Seems plausible. Yay, beaver!
The world is so full of wonderful frogs.
It really is. And this one is particularly wonderful.
Eenhorn (imagine there are accents grave over the ee) not neushorn, in that forest. Fantastic.
I luff that beaver so much.
Why the accent marks, DebG? Do you speak Dutch? I don’t, but so far as I can tell, in Dutch they don’t occur in those words. Eenhoorn = Unicorn; Neushoorn = Rhinoceros. N’est-ce pas? Is dat niet zo? Maybe not since 1996? Dutch seems to go through periodic spelling reforms. So is Èènhoorn an older spelling? (Oddly, the accents make it look like the word has two horns on its “head.”)
Curiously yours,
Ricky & Bibi’s Mom
If you look at the article, that’s how they spelled unicorn. Accents do occur in Dutch! I’m studying it now that our new owner is Dutch and runs two other companies in Holland. And instead of accents grave, they should go the other way but I can’t remember what they’re called. Dutch on Duolingo includes accent marks (whatever they’re called by the Dutch) and diaresis and a few other symbols. Our sister company is called Louët.
And it’s my bad–the article spells it eenhorn. But een = one has accents to differentiate from een = an. At least on Duolingo.
Tiny frog!!! I’m already in love.
He looks like he’s made of cheetos.
Wow.

It looks like froggy’s doing push-ups!
I should take some inspiration from him. If a tiny pencil-point-size frog can get in a workout, so can I!
This one would be good for Valentine’s Day
This is too late to do anybody much good, but FWIW, Google Translate says the first (bold type) paragraph of the unicorn article says “A unicorn has been spotted near the Nieuwkoopse Plassen in Nieuwkoop. The animal, a deer with a single antler instead of two, had been seen before in the nature reserve. Now, the unusual creature has also been captured on video.” A mutation, I guess? Birth defect of a sort? If it has babies, will they have a 50-50 chance of being like this too? Beginning of a new species? Or a one-off?
Cool! Thank you!
