Me too, me too. Especially with the union at my workplace.
Things have gotten got interesting with them lately. I might have mentioned that I was on the committee to draft new bylaws for the union and that took almost 2 years. We put them out for members’ review a couple weeks ago with voting starting today. To say there’s been a very vocal section against the new bylaws is putting it mildly. It culminated in an email from my campus chapter saying the union’s Board of Directors voted out the current President and VP of Finance which I thought was odd since I rec’d nothing from the union leadership itself, and the members didn’t vote on it (which we’re supposed per the current bylaws). Turns out the meeting was illegal, there was no quoram and we essentially have a rogue shadow board of directors trying to hijack the union. Who knew things could be so crazy??!!!
