I know not everybody agrees but I think Sphynx cats are beautiful and I’ve petted one and they are so soft and warm!
They’re so cute, especially kittens. I’ve never met a Sphynx in person but I have petted a Chinese Crested dog and I imagine the skin feels similar. My only problem with them is that they’re high maintenance with bathing and whatnot (you’d think otherwise since there’s no fur) and I know myself. I need a low maintenance pet.
Same reason I wouldn’t get a long-haired dog breed. I grew up with a miniature Schnauzer and she needed regular grooming (which I was obviously not responsible for; I was five when we got her). When we had Pablo we just had to plunk him in the sink every so often, and clip his nails, which I usually took him to Petco for; it was worth ten bucks (+ a bag of treats) to not have to worry about cutting too short while he squirmed. I would hold him upright in mid-air, which made him hold still, and the groomer would clip and we’d be done in a minute. Then we’d hit the treat bar for his favorites and go home.
They’re pretty, cute, and weird little goblins all at the same time.
