And It’s Called “Fetch,” You Say?

So if I understand you correctly, you throw the ball, and I chase it and bring it back to you? And we can do this as many times as I want? I must say I find the premise of this game most intriguing — please do continue!

An Australian shepherd dog opens its eyes wide as if intrigued.
We need to make this happen!

What a beautiful dog and he seems fascinated by the concept of fetch.

I guess fetch is going to happen, after all!

That’s one gorgeous pup! I’d play fetch even though I don’t enjoy slobber-covered chew toys.

Now that’s the definition of bright eyed and bushy tailed!! And I’d play fetch with him all day long, sore arm be danged.

One of my favorite dog park memories is seeing a dog similar to this have a stare down with their owner over fetch. The guy had two balls, but would only throw one.

He would wait for his dog to fetch the one he threw and then throw the other one.

A detente ensued where the dog would hesitate to fetch the first ball because it wanted the second ball as well. Eventually they figured it out that the price of the second ball was the first ball.
