Squeeeeee! Love the spooky banner!!! and all the vewy scawey batses! Bravo Mike!
Amazingly, no plans today. So just chores. Staying in bed with coffee a bit longer. Probably work on my dad’s Christmas socks. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend planned.
By the way, if you’re enjoying the new banner image, be sure to visit its creator on Flickr, featuring a collection of crafty cookie content:

Thanks for pointing that out, it is spooktacular! And making me hungry, lol.
They all look yummy.
I adore the bears, polar and brown.
To start with, I could have upvoted this a gazilllion times. Love the flying voids. And I want them all!!!!
Itโs finally been feeling fall like in SoCal, temps in the 70s, and some rain. Off to a Lego show today. Never been so not sure what to expect but should be interesting plus gets me and hubby out of the house. Tomorrow is errands day, then Iโm heading over to the thrift store. I am so needing some clothes that fit. I have been maintaining my 20 lb weight loss for several weeks now so I figured time to celebrate with a new wardrobe. Yea me!!! ๐๐๐ My dr was pretty happy with that and amazed I did it the old fashioned way without using those GLP1 shots.
The thing driving me batty this week is my office is so chilly. Itโs like they canโt balance the HVAC system. Iโve even had to wear those fingerless gloves to type! Guess itโs time to buy a small heater just in case the system forgets how to heat in the winter. Happy weekend everyone!
Good morning! I think most bats are pretty cute, anyway, but these bcats are next level!
Love the banner and the cookies at the link are amazing! For anyone who doesn’t get the new post emails, they are now coming from BOO!TROPOLIS ๐
No plans today. I need to do some chores, and change my furnace filter (it’s 37F this morning!), all the usual stuff I never seem to get to despite my best intentions.
Early voting starts in New Jersey today (ends Sunday, 11/1)! I plan to go on my way home from work on Monday, unless I find myself out and about over the weekend, but I probably won’t.
The dogs were good again. (But, language warning, if you have small pups around…)
I think I watched Gert’s little hippity-hops down the steps at least half a dozen times.

Plus highlights from the Thompson Park parade (sponsored by Allegra, apparently).

I always worry that the dogs don’t like wearing costumes. Still, the ones shown just seemed happy to be there. And I really have to applaud the creativity of the hoomins. It takes a special kind of brain to imagine dressing up as a lettuce recall!
Love the BOO!TROPOLIS banner!
No special plans for today, just chores and maybe a walk later.
Have a good weekend all.
Did anyone else expect a bevy of actual bats? I for one wasn’t prepared for kittens who obviously chose their own costumes!
Something that’s driving me batty is the British Museum’s misleading warning on its website about queues for the Bayeux Tapestry. Visitors are now told to allocate one to two hours for their visit, which includes 40 minutes to walk along the full length of the tapestry. By mid-afternoon on the day I went I queued for two hours before even reaching the tapestry, which is why I missed the train home and had to buy another ticket! The second batch of tickets for the exhibition sold out as quickly as the first – I hope people know what to expect this time…
Changing the subject somewhat, I recently booked for the RSC’s 2027 Stratford season (two stays of two nights) and managed to get a room at my B&B of choice. This was a relief as the pub with rooms I’ve been stuck with over the past couple of years is very noisy if the visit coincides with live music night and it doesn’t do an included breakfast.
Costumes…? ๐ซค
Over the past couple of weeks I’ve spent hours and hours in the air, days in SoCal at a blissfully wonderful professional conference, lunch with SoCal family, more hours and hours in the air, and catching up with all the mail (snail- and e-), bills, notices, laundry, and other such quotidian responsibilities that had piled up in my time away from home. I feel like I’m never going to catch up on my sleep deficit. But lots of it was fun while it lasted.
I love the kittens in their bat wings. They all look sweet enough to eat!
I was editing to add lots of other stuff to my remarks above when it suddenly appeared as you see it now. Must have been ghosts intervening.
The first and probably only bats I would want to cuddle! All the time, in fact.
Love the new banner, though I can’t believe it’s the end of October already. We’re expecting a high of 52F today and tomorrow, but it’s been warm enough that my condo is preheated from sunny days and temps around 80F. The light over my loom gets quite hot, so I will leave the door open to get more air in. Just weaving and chores for me this weekend. Groceries just got delivered! I may continue grocery delivery even after the wrist fully heals, as it’s so convenient.
Hugs to you all.
Greeting, fellow bats. And arenโt you the cutest little bats Iโve ever seen.
Our own baby bat boy was born on Thursday, so now I have a grand niece and a grand nephew. Mother is doing fine, but stunned: she went from three centimeters to giving birth in just over an hour.
I got my shingles vaccine on Monday, and now Iโm scheduled to get my flu and Covid shots tonight.
Idiot BIL is no longer worrying me. Hubby got a new manager ( donโt know if I mentioned this), and she does not suffer fools gladly. Idiot BIL will get himself fired from his own mouth/actions, and we will have nothing to do with it. Apparently so will several other idiots working there. Iโm quite content to sit back and watch the show.
Local sparrows have me well-trained. They know I will accidentally spill birdseed on the deck at nine every morning.
Off to wreak havoc and then make a huge pot of turkey soup for the weekend. Have a great one, everyone.
I should have got my flu and Covid shots this morning…but I forgot all about it, despite the appointment being clearly marked on the calendar. I’ll have to make a grovelling apology at the surgery on Monday morning. It’s quicker to walk there (only two streets away) than wait for the receptionist to answer the phone!
The kitties cosplaying as bats made me squee! As did the Halloween Bootropolis banner! BF and I are coming off of a double vaccination (flu and Covid) which seems to have initiated a sinus or tooth infection in me… I probably should have had it looked at on Friday when I had time. Now I’ll have to wait until Tuesday because Monday is Austria’s national holiday. The good news is, I have fall break until November 3! And tonight we switch back to winter time, so I can catch up on some much needed sleep!
We kind of missed Tocktober this year, didn’t we? But it’s not too late โฆ is it?
