Really glad Sam the toucan got rescued, and more convinced than ever that exotic birds shouldn’t be pets.
The Sloth Conservation Foundation, run by Dr. Rebecca Cliffe, has come out against plans for a new Sloth World tourist adventure in, I think, Florida. They note the bait and switch–supposedly about conservation, but moving a bunch of endangered maned slothes out of their natural habitat runs counter to that narrative.

That’s going above and beyond the call of duty officer but thank you for caring for your partner and the other horses. Dang, first hot dudes with dogs yesterday and now the Australian firefighters???!!! It’s getting very warm in my office and it’s not the weather! I really think I need to move to Australia. Even if the animals try to kill me, at least there’s a firefighter to come rescue me, lol. Glad Sam the Toucan is safe again. And this is so totally me today…
Especially after I found out my call in for jury duty was not 1 week but 2!!! So 5 more days for trying to remember to check in. Ughhhhh.
