Cabbage Patch Bun

Breaking News: Researchers at the Institute for Mad Science announced the successful creation of the first “hortoise,” a tortoise/hare hybrid. “This is a breakthrough,” said a spokesperson. “At last, an animal that can win a race with itself.”

    Aw isn’t that Hortoise cute!

Friends I could use some good thought, I’m at Penn Emergency Vet with Swee’Pea. He was exhibiting blocked urinary tract behavior this morning. But that’s not what it is. Now they don’t know. Ive been so worried about Jacques lately that I’ve probably missed some signs.😥
If you can say a little good thought for us, I’d be grateful.

If it’s a girl I think I’d have to name her Hortense the Hortoise…

(Which, fittingly, is a feminine French and Latin name that means “garden” or “gardener”.)

    Hope Swee’Pea is okay, Tara.

Oh oh, poor Swee’Pea. Sending lots of healing thoughts your way Tara.

This hortoise can come over to my house anytime. I even have a carrot cake ready for baby.

Thanks everyone – Swee’Pea is still at Penn, I am home, we decided to do a blood test, and after that, definitely fluids and anti-nausea meds, then wait for the test results and go from there. He is living up to his name, the docs and techs all said how sweet he is.

Sending even more hugs and purrs. We never run out of them.

Thank you again everyone for your kind thoughts. Swee’Pea and I are home. Kidney and liver indicators are fine, as is urine analysis. He’s a little dehydrated, but the bad news is the indicators for an inflammation are quote: “very” high. But what it is, is yet to be determined. Blood analysis by the super pros tomorrow and the vet will call me. Of course, I’m wondering now, was there a bone in the salmon or the tuna I gave all of them last week? Did it perf his bowl?! My poor sweetie will be sequestered in the bedroom until we know. This is not his normal territory so he is unhappy. I’m getting lots of eye blink kisses though, so maybe that’s a good sign.

    RE: “Cabbage Patch Bun”

Photographic proof that you were found under a cabbage leaf when you were born.
