Oh, joy — it’s another Monday. For two glorious days out of the week, I get to cuddle up to my human while she reads and watches TV, and then on Monday she has to go to some dumb job while I sit here and wait for her. Whose idea was this, anyway?
“Yes, I am station agent! I can help you with train schedule! The next train will be here soon or maybe later and it will be big and shiny and the doors will open and people will get in and then it will make a honk-honk noise and go somewhere.”
Yes, it can be a lonely existence. Sitting at my post for days at a time, with nothing but a voice on the radio for company, can drive you crazy if you let it. But thanks to me, there hasn’t been a single forest fire in the living room.
