The Eternal Struggle of Flesh Blob vs. Strawberry

In the frozen foods section of Nature’s majestic realm, even small fruits must adapt or perish. Here, we see a frozen strawberry under attack by a large sentient flesh blob. Again and again, the blob attacks, but the wily strawberry confuses the beast by being cold. Soon, the blob tires of the game, and the strawberry survives to fight another day.

My money’s on the strawberry, Faye

Does the blob even have eyes?

My thoughts, exactly. And the eternal/infernal struggles goes on … [semi] sentient beings vs. food.

Careful young pupper .. if you aren’t careful .. it will stick to your tongue !

For a moment there, I thought the strawberry had bought the farm. But no.

I’ve been listening to the Infinite Monkey Cage podcast recently and they have a running joke about dead strawberries (apparently it came out of an argument about “when is a strawberry dead?” but I haven’t actually heard that episode so far). So this post and your comment are especially amusing to me. 😛 ?

😀 Debg you gave me a mighty grin and Allein, why isn’t that somebody you are enamoured with not enamoured with you.?! Seriously, even your stream of consciousness is entertaining, funny often and just all around cool.

          Aw, thanks.

Well, if he is he hasn’t let me know it. He isn’t privy to my stream of consciousness, though. It’s a lot easier to be funny and entertaining semi-anonymously in writing than it is to tell someone how I feel in real life.

Allein, I know of what you speak. I used to say, in my dating years, “Show me an attractive guy and I’ll show you how fast I can run in the opposite direction.” I wish I had some sage advice for you. I do think we often give the object of our affection too much power over us – they’re just people with all the crap we have – different versions of it, but crap nonetheless. I have a friend who could look at a guy and say “Him!” And by the end of the evening he was fawning all over her. I was always astounded by this, but what she did was ask questions and listen. She asked really probing and sensitive questions so he was the focus – it was about him, not her. She ended up being a social worker, so maybe she just has a special skill, I don’t know, but for what it’s worth, an idea for moving forward. End of
            advice column.?

Well, I have to go to his place of employment tomorrow to pick up something I ordered. I don’t know if he’ll be there; he’s been at a work conference this week (which, for the record, I only know because I have a facebook friend who is also there who has been posting stuff, including a group picture of their district’s people) but I think it ends today. I may or may not have been there last night and purposely didn’t pick up the item (but it’s for my brother who as far as I know I will see tomorrow so I’ll have to go get it by then).

                😀 Good luck tomorrow!

                Ditto.

Yes, it survives, but it won’t be cold much longer.
Just wait till tomorrow (says the Blob)

I love the sounds of snorting, sniffling, slobery, slurps!

    • Stressfactor September 29, 2016 / 1:10 pm

I know! The snorting and snuffling killed me ded!

  6. Gigi the cat lady September 29, 2016 / 12:45 pm

Anyone who has seen Steve McQueen fight the Blob knows that blobs can’t stand the cold!

  7. AB September 29, 2016 / 1:10 pm

Aw, I just want to pick up the berry and stuff it in his mouth for him.

      • AB September 29, 2016 / 2:19 pm

Yeah, poor little guy reminds me of that viral photo of the dog that really, really looks like a towel. My dad always says they’re “too small for their dog suits”.

That’s the one! I would totally dry my hands and face on him.

How do you find, not just an image related to practically every post, but THE definitive image? You amaze me. 🙂

            • allein ? September 30, 2016 / 2:03 pm

              Google Image Search.

Actually, I didn’t know this one existed. I was just looking for the other one I posted first. I’ve seen some of her other ones, my favorite, of course, being “Chihuahua or Muffin?”

More here. Including Parrot or Guacamole? (which is also new to me!).

…and continuing the theme of people who match their pets to their decor.

  9. Emily September 29, 2016 / 3:07 pm

Look at that meaty snout, it looks so squishy! *dies a little*

  10. Faye September 29, 2016 / 3:23 pm

I forgot this one! The snuffles and snarfing is epic. But the bouncing muzzle pouches is what gets me.

    One brave berry there. ?

  11. Murray C. September 29, 2016 / 4:04 pm

A snuffle pup – how adorable. Did someone inflate his snout???

  12. Julie September 30, 2016 / 9:20 am

Strawberry is not organic. That is why puppers will not partake. ?
