And finally: Ludwig Gets a Squeaking Roll

Most dogs love to destroy their squeaky toys within days, but Ludwig here prefers a different method, one that leaves his toys intact and Ludwig visibly satisfied.

“Most dogs love to destroy their squeaky toys within days”…

Slackers… I gave my friend’s dog a squeaky toy (with a squeaker that only the dog can hear) and she destroyed it in less than ten minutes!

Not all dogs use the squeaky toys as toys. When I was a kid my aunt had a female Doberman mix that lost her first litter of puppies due to complications. My aunt had her fixed so she wouldn’t go through that again but Belle never got over the lost and gathered all the squeaky toys form all the neighbourhood dog and cared for them as if they were her puppies.. If you took one from her doghouse and made it squeak she would come running and take it gently from you hands and take it back and put it back with the others, she would lie down and arrange them close to her belly as if she wants to nurse them. It was both beautiful and heart breaking.

Awwww, that’s so sweet and sad! Clever of her to find a solution to her heartache.

Those Italian puppies are off-the-charts cute! The dog actor getting the Heimlich stole the show–what a mellow girl! Another great set of links. Ludwig is hilarious.

Hey, Ludwig would be a good name for the little polar bear!

Excellent! And it meets the zoo manager’s request of still being suitable for the cub when he grows up as well.

(adding)… I think the pun also still works in German – “bear” is “bar” or “baer,” I believe.

Love the puppy rescuer giving the puppy kisses before passing him into the truck. One for the Men of Cutetropolis Calendar!

My viscious labrador, who will try to pick a fight with any dog, is terrified of squeaky toys. I bought her a squeaky frisbee and the first time it squeaked she dropped it and backed away in terror.
