I didn’t know owls liked water but this little bird seems so happy swimming in its little sink-tub.
Makes me dizzy, that’s for sure! But he’s very good at spotting (Ballerina talk ) so I feel sure he’s a spotted owl. Or maybe a spotty owl)
oh my – I too, could be that easy to please! Can I have a my whirly pool that I can just hang out in all day? Ugh – owlie looks very content.
(not gonna nuff, not gonna nuff, not gonna nuff ….. OK, I’m gonna nuff a little) – When you see a bird swimming or floating that is not naturally a water bird, please keep an eye on them – their feathers (not being naturally water repellent like other birds) can get water-logged after a very short while, making it hard for them to escape from the water before tiring or become distressed.

I think it may be two separate ties, one on each ankle – but not fastened together (looking at the last few seconds of the video). I’ve seen this on hawks/other birds of prey so I assume it’s for the human to hold – I think they may be called ‘jesses.’
You can tell I’m way out of my wheelhouse – that’s ‘owl’ I know! He does seem to be enjoying his spa.

I slowed the video down; the legs are definitely tied together. The YouTube description said the owl was enjoying the bath after “a days hard work” [sic]. However, it also says the video is owned by Jukin Media and there is no other source. I’m not sure how one could tell a bird was in distress, but from a human view he does seem okay.
I didn’t know owls could be working/sport birds like falcons. I’m not nuts about the idea, but little wol is still cute in his own right.
That’s not a nuff, that’s good advice. Since there was someone filming this, I assume the bird was under good supervision.
Yes, true – I have to believe that an owl in a lovely sink whirlpool has caring eyes on him. I think its legs are tied with what is called a Jess in falconry. It’s used by a falconer to keep control of a bird while it is on the glove.
And owls have definitely been used as hunting birds in the past, so modern falconers probably do so now too.
See, I new one of you would have an answer to my question.
