I was thinking how pampered this puss was, with a fuzzy bed and a fleecy blanket. I was smiling in amusement over how much some people spoil their animals. Then I looked up, and realized how deeply I’ve fallen into that trap.
I have His Royal Bratness, Prince Cricket, for the weekend. We keep our place quite cool, and I noticed that he was shivering. So I set up an electric heater, aimed at his cage, but not too close. Cricket has plastered himself against the side of the cage closest to the heater and is now contentedly sleeping, issuing tiny snores.
I have succumbed to the cute.
