Maru is no ordinary cat, and he lives no ordinary life. For Maru, a typical day is a series of bizarre events: futile attempts to defy laws of physics, a pointless attack by a robot cat, chasing a string from inside an invisible force field, and finally, attacking phantom mice that exist only in his mind.
That was definitely… Maru, Andrew Y.
OMG, Maru may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, or he maybe a bubble off plumb or a taco short of a combination plate, but he is endlessly entertaining. Trying to get into that box! back end flailing – and hitting his head chasing the string INSIDE THE BOX! Was there ever a funnier cat.
One fry short of a Happy Meal?
I don’t think any other cat can compare to Maru and his antics. I laughed myself silly when he tried (unsuccessfully!) to squish himself into that box. I thought there was nothing that back leg couldn’t do! His look of contempt over robot kitty. And, he can tap dance! What a cat. ?
One of the best Maru videos! He makes me so happy!
This is a truly outstanding Maru collection! Is he becoming more eccentric? The expression on his face while the robot cat was attacking him – I would LOVE to know what he was thinking! See-through boxes may be a whole new frontier. I urge Mugumogu to explore this further. I was a little concerned about his attack on the invisible mice – possibly he saw something through the plastic? Touching of front paws is, in my experience with cats, often dicey.
No touchy da pawsies.
One of the best Maruthons ever! I’m still laughing.
I can’t believe Maru FAILED to get into a box-shaped thing.
The look he gave Mugumogu after blatantly stated that his inability to get in was her fault.
I agree that this is one of the best Maru compilations ever! The look of contempt on his face for the robot kitty…hilarious!
Maybe the robot kitty would have better luck with Hana? Or Ms. World Print Cow?
Robo-kitty is my new second fave clip XD so funny
Absolute fave is still “Maru loves too much” :3
Robot kitty had me giggling like a little girl, especially after it fell over and its feet kept going.
I wonder if Maru thought he caught the string when it got stuck on the box.
Also thinking maybe he could see the carpet through the plastic? Maybe he thought the fibers moving were something he needed to catch.
Maru trying to get into that drawer was the funniest thing I’ve seen all week!
I think we should petition the Japanese government to grant Maru the title of Living National Treasure.
Second!
Watching this video reminds me of a question I have been meaning to ask. I used to share posts, especially those of Maru and Hana, by email. I notice that option is no longer available on this site. Since I am not on Facebook and do not use Twitter or Pinterest, does that mean my days of sharing Cutetropolis posts are over?
I have been a follower of Cutetropolis from the beginning having moved from Cute Overload. I have always enjoyed Mike’s writing and zany sense of humour and will continue to do so whether or not I can pass on any of his gems to my friends.
Also the 2016 calendar is terrific. My second comment in 10 years. My first was to register as a fan of Fiona. I do enjoy reading the comments of the regular Cutetropolans.
You can email 😀
I send stuff in …way too often XD
Edit: Oops, I think I misunderstood you, nevermind ^^;
Hi Susan B.! It’s always nice to see someone de-lurking.
If I understand the question correctly, you can still email posts from here to friends, without the email icon (I’m not on Facebook, Twitter, etc. either and this is how I do it):
Write an email like you normally would, then highlight/copy/paste the address from the top of this page into the message. For instance, in this case the address is https://cutetropolis.com/2017/08/05/many-maru-23/?ref=nvb
The recipients can then click the link and read the post and the comments.
Hope this helps!
Smartypants, you made me so happy with this comment!
Iam not much of a Facebook fan and I don’t check my own FB account on a daily basis, maybe once or twice a week. People keep nagging me to use messenger because they think an app would automatically give me free time to chat with them 🙂 So Iam glad to see Iam not the only one who could live without social media.
Hi Susan! Thank you for the kind words. The “email” button disappeared on its own due to a change by the software publisher. Sorry about that.
The advice given by Smartypants is correct. Highlight the address of a post, copy it to the clipboard (ctrl + c on many systems), and then paste (ctrl + p) into an email message.
I’m glad you brought this up, though. I need to look for a replacement email function so that I can restore this feature.
