The Lionhead King

“You must rule this kingdom wisely, Simba. Remember that although we bunnies eat the grass, we return to the grass when we die. Also, there are these bigger animals with really sharp teeth that tend to chase us a lot, but that’s kind of a downer so let’s just focus on the grass.”

Beautiful, precious looking bunnehs. The lionhead bun does look so regal and wise.

    The semi-circle of life! *snort-laff*
That is a true Lionhead rabbit, btw. Has the mane and fur tufts exactly where a real lion does. They don’t shed either. Very hard to breed Lionheads, which is why such a wide variety of fur patterns are out there.

They need to be clipped regularly, however, because their fur interferes with grooming and eating their cecals and it can mat. I fostered a lion head for about a year and his fur would get SO long he looked ridiculous. When I clipped him he turned into the 2lb ball of fuzz he was meant to be.

Either way the bunneh is cute. But being clipped, one can see his fur pattern and cute face, better. I’m sure the bunneh liked having less fur. After fostering him for a year, I think I’d be what they call a “foster failure” (one who ends up keeping the precious pet). I know, I’ve been a “failure”, in the a good way.

“Failure” seems like the wrong word in that case. More like “fosters keepers”! ?

He also had a bonded mate and I was under strict orders (from Hubby) NO MORE BUNNIES! He takes care of the compost, you see, and it’s amazing what just two bunnies can produce (of course you, Luv Bunny, know all about this) I took care of Oreo and Gypsy’s litter as well as their food and grooming, and I was very fussy about who I let have them. In the end I found a wonderful young woman who was just right. And I, too, have been a foster failure and it was grand.

Horseless carriages? Electric lanterns? Hogwash! Malarkey, I say!

    Aww!

I suspect Simba would highly disapprove of that whole “hold me out over a cliff” bit…

I did a search for cecals, and forgot to close when I left this morning. When I came back and turned the iPad back on, I was presented with a large image of fresh bunny poop.
