Screaming Yellow Zonkers! Oh, that takes me back …

Could being hugged by lions be the dictionary definition of ecstasy?

It’s certainly MY definition! That video made me tear up a bit.

Me too. The woman and both cats seemed excited/happy to see each other. She must have been very happy to see that the lions not only remembered her, but remembered her with love.

And some people say animals don’t feel emotions; show them this video!

I finally got to see it – pretty amazing – they could tear her head of but there they are lapping at her with big tongues and hugging her for pity’s sake!!! Wonderful.

Hey Cutetropians! It’s my birthday today – already been a good day. My brain sent me a full night of dreams about puppies!!! Shared my breakfast with Merlin who gave me a bit of parroty love, and I’m off to my sister’s house soon to cuddle her fuzzy poodle puppies. Yay me!!!
I’m reminded of a late-Jim-Henson-era creation – something from Labyrinth or The Dark Crystal?

OK, but why does the Washington Zoo need MORE screaming hairy armadillos? They should send them to a city that’s not already full of them, for goodness sakes.

OMG, quokkas and baby meerkats – could animals get any cuter?

Happy b-day, Birdcage! September is a GREAT month for birthdays!
Those screaming armadillos are beyond hilarious, as is the part-cat donkey. So many squee-worthy links today!

Happy Birthday, Birdcage – and thanks for the Screaming armadillo, DB – sounds like my cat, truth be told, but more rhythmic. Does its hair have little bits of decoration in it? Looks bridal – or something.
Couldn’t watch the lions – didn’t want to play – but I’ll try again later. Adore quokkas – reason for a trip – what say you all? The donkey – well, just being a jerk. And the gorillas made me weepy – I am happy to think that somewhere in my family tree way back that I am related to them. So much intelligence in their eyes. And I loved when mom swatted impatiently at a fly buzzing around her face – it was such a familiar gesture – done it many times.

Whenever I see a baby gorilla (or other great apes) I wonder how anyone can look at that face and not see that we are cousins.
I’ve been watching a lot of Bioparc Valencia’s other gorilla videos on Youtube – they’re just spellbinding. Mom gorilla is mighty enough to stop a truck, but she’s so calm and loving with Baby!

The screwy thing about the donkey video is that any one of those cows (to say nothing of several of them in combination) could send that donkey across the Rainbow Bridge in a couple of seconds. The donkey is not the only one there with hooves. Are cows simply that nice? Or are they really that timid? I figure once he was sated, the donkey probably tipped over the bucket purely so nobody else could have any. And since presumably a jackass isn’t actually a jackass (in the human sense), what WAS his motivation? Are donkeys desert creatures? Are they really that protective of water?

Happy Birthday, Birdcage! ??? And many more!
Puppy Birthday to You! 😀
Happy birthday, Birdcage!
Happy Birthday Birdcage! I hope the rest of your day continues to be as nice as it began!
Hippo Birdie Two Ewes, Birdcage!
I knew you’d find it, Allein!
Happy birthday, Birdcage!
And I’m sorry, but with the name, I had to look this up. SHA vocalizing seems to have been an inspiration for car alarms? Also, very hairy:
So the screaming drives away predators because it annoys them? This would have been a good subject for WTF Evolution.
Nailed it.
I watched this video and thought, “the scream is kind of adorable,” but after watching yours I can see it would get old pretty fast.
Also, he looks a little gremlin-esque.
