Autumn comes. Maru sits among the leaves, pale green and gold. Each leaf is a tiny death, beautiful and terrifying. Hana ignores their agony as she frolics below. Youth has that luxury, he thinks.
Soon the leaves will fall to the ground, and someone will rake them. Perhaps they will be put into a box. Perhaps he will crawl into this box. This would be good. But perhaps the box will be too full of leaves, and there will not be room for him. The concern weighs upon his mind. Or possibly that is a leaf. This too concerns him.
This is, like, deep and stuff, Dana D. and Andrew Y.
OMG, Maru as king of the hill! Then he sits on a rooster!?!!1! Mugumogu makes magical movies.
Sitting on top of the hill he kinda looks like he’s wearing a giant skirt.
Love that his eyes are the color of the leaves and how he picks his way among the leaves so daintily. And, of course, the parting shot with that leaf weighing heavily. Oh, Maru, you are a darling.
I shall sit. But I shall not frolic!
His eyes match the color of the leaves <3
Maru, such heavy thoughts for such a sunny day. So profound.
Good thing we love you profoundly.
His eyes really do match the golden leaves, don’t they?
You will find room, Maru, I have no doubt.
This shows the differences in personalities so well. Hana is a total spazz, distracted by every leaf, bug, bird, whatever. Maru meditates on the mountain, and becomes one with nature. Wonderful!
This is so beautiful! And Maru reacts so sensitively to the wind and the leaves.
The grass covered mound is a peculiar garden feature. Just saying.
Beautiful, Mike!
Oh big round one, fret not. Today’s fallen leaves are tomorrow’s spring buds
I have not noticed Maru being so very dainty walking around indoors. He acts like the leaves might be land mines. Hana has no such misgivings.
