Who goes there? I declare, ’tis a pear in my lair! I swear, this pear came from nowhere, caught me unaware and gave me a scare! One cannot prepare for a pear with such flair! Is it fair to stare at a pear this rare? Would it be debonair, or would I look square? I want to share this pear everywhere!

Fear not, little kitten, tucked up in your lair,
Snuggled in blankets of beige and umber;
This invader is merely a harmless pear,
Not a frightful, ferocious, cat-eating CUCUMBER!
Better than a bear under your lair…
I wouldn’t even do that on a dare!
This thread is taking on a Seussian flair!
Also, this pear is bigger than kitty’s head.
Leave the pear, take the kitty and no one gets hurt.
Leave the gun, take the cannoli.
Now YOU have my attention. Fork over the cannoli, and make it quick. You can keep the gun.
The rhymes remind me, also, of some very old George Carlin; about his hair and beard. “See my beard, ain’t it weird? Don’t be skeered; just a beard.”
I was just listening to “Hair Piece” recently, so I was definitely channeling that here.
Cool!
The post should be read out loud in British accent 🌂
