It’s funny that the cat and his human playing “jazz” together is the first link today since I just finished reading a story about the complex legacy of the great jazz musician Louis Armstrong in the Gardian. For anyone interested here is the link to the article.

Fascinating piece. I can’t even imagine what it would be like as a POC to encounter some career success in show biz, especially in the 30s and 40s, and then by the 60s get labeled an Uncle Tom. I’m reminded of Hattie McDaniel’s acting career, which didn’t exactly soar after Gone with the Wind (no good roles for black women). She famously said, “I’d rather play a maid than be a maid.” Queen Latifah plays her in the Netflix show Hollywood, which to me showed what Hollywood could have been if its money men had been a little more courageous.
Leo the potato kitten and the car-riding floof are so very adorable!
Must save other linkies for later.
I’ll just put the kitten-in-the-car on continuous play and happily get nothing done today.
Me, too. What a sweet face.
And the loving happiness on that face.
The Italian Greyhound modeling all the outfits she didn’t get to wear is hilarious (in the Buzzfeed dog posts list). Make sure to watch with sound.
Definitely worth looking at!
I feel ya, baby. So many sweaters I made that never got worn. I’ve been living in sweats most of this year.
“Love it, couldn’t wear it” just about sums up my feelings about the nice clothes I was planning to wear to the theatre this year. Although I don’t think I could have got away with the cow costume.
I wore an entire outfit – pants, sweater, shoes – for the first time last week; I bought them in January/February.
