Welcome to the open thread, where you can talk about whatever’s on your mind. We’re just finishing up some laundry, but as reader Georgiana Y. explains, folding may have to wait:
My two old girls Beans and Minnie don’t usually like the same things but fresh sheets just out of the dryer are hard to resist.
I’m with the lovely Beans and Minnie. I find just about anything fresh out of the dryer hard to resist.
Beans and Minnie can come over to my house. I just finished a load of t-shirts, etc that’s fresh out of the dryer and still toasty. I had a few cats that couldn’t even wait and would jump in the dryer as soon as I opened the door. As Georgiana says, folding had to wait.
Had hockey games twice this week and yippee we won both times. Last night was like old time hockey, great skating, nice passing, excellent checking, and a few fights to make it interesting along with some amazing, did he do that, did you see that?, goals. Today we have a car club meet up this morning then some errands, then home organizing, and hopefully tomorrow some thrift store shopping. Just found a new one that supports an HIV/AIDS foundation so time to go check it out.
Wow my girls made it to Caturday, thanks Mike!
They are both 15 years old, I got them at the same time as kitten, Beans from a shelter and Minnie from a lady whose cat had an unplanned for litter.
The girls will be enjoying warm laundry later again today, Saturday being laundry day for me since I don’t like to go to the shops on the weekends, too many people and anyway there’s nothing else to do, it’s raining and grey outside today.
Not that I’m complaining, rain is a lot better than snow!!
Have a good weekend everyone!
Lovely cozy girls!
I sometimes throw my socks and long johns into the dryer for a few minutes before I dress to shovel snow. Very cozy.
I appear to have gotten up on the wrong side of sleep this morning. So napping on some warm sheets with these two cuddle bugs sounds very inviting.
Rain. Cold. Wind. Itās Marching outside.
Hubby has a cold and Duckie is aggressively moulting. So he snores all night, and Duckie has her limited feathers floofed up, and the new feather quills make her look like a hedgehog and are uncomfortable, so she bitters all day.
I think tonight I will have hubby sleep in Duckieās cage, and she can join me in the bed. Sheāll be warm and comforted, and his snoring wonāt bother me.
Have a good weekend, everyone.
Previously I shared a photo of Teddy, so this week here’s a photo of Vera in her favorite place by the window. She enjoys this spot so much more than her “real” room, so I moved everything here and now she never has to leave.
That was nice of you Mike. Vera has a nice set up, a window to look out of and blinds to munch on.
And who doesnāt enjoy warm laundry from the dryer whether it be a human or animal.
Ah yes, about the blinds: I usually keep those drawn open, although she hasn’t shown much interest in nibbling on them.
What is that sort of brick made of straw maybe that she appears to nibble on? She looks like a very happy little beauty.
Sheās so cute!
Such a beauty! And love her new setup, got everything she could want.
What a pretty girl Vera is! So nice to see her here.
Sheets are for napping, so weāre napping.” Can’t argue with that logic. I slept really late today. Now I know why.
Apparently this magazine is in demand…
Want!!!! And price isnāt bad, only about $6, might have to order.
Lovers of cats, mysteries, and P.G. Wodehouse will have fun reading āDeath at the Excelsiorā (https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/8176).
I LOVE Wodehouse. I canāt believe I didnāt know about this book.
Ditto! And ditto!
I was hoping a cat was the detective, but believable cat psychology nonetheless.
Happy little kitties. Lovely little Vera – great picture of a black bun – not easy.
Here near Philadelphia, PA itās well into the 70ās and feels like May. Itās unnatural and Iām not happy about it! Grrrr. Iām pruning, cutting back, digging weeds. For two years now, spring and fall, Iāve been pruning back about 125ālinear feet of overgrown barberry hedge. What a job! Iām hoping I can get it done by this fall. Iām working on it today, probably tomorrow. I am lucky to have battery operated secateurs which make a world of difference. The best part of all this is that people walk their doggies and sometimes I can pet them.
Enjoy your weekend everyone. Duckie, send us a picture of your husband in the birdcage, will you. That I gotta see.š
Such beauties today! Georgiana’s babies are just gorgeous, and I always love seeing Vera.
I’m taking a quick break from sewing a new purse. It’s been quite some time since I sat down with my beloved machine, and it feels like I’ve never made anything in my life (which is not true–I started sewing at 15 and made 75% of my clothes until I left academia 7 years ago).
Maybe–MAYBE–tomorrow I’ll be looking at houses with my new realtor. I’m looking to build, which I’ve never done before, so it’s great to have someone experienced in my corner. He offered to help me navigate the process. Wish me luck, everybody!
My family received their handwoven throws, finally, on Wednesday. Apparently the blankets are a big hit. Huge sigh of relief!
Hugs, everybody. Duckie, if you put hubby in the cage, do let us know.
This is a test post.
This is a cat resume.
Still can’t post from Chrome on my laptop without getting that “Request Header Fields Too Large” error…tried Firefox and it wouldn’t even let me on the site: “Your connection is not secure. The owner of cutetropolis.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website.”
Now I’m posting from Edge and that worked. For now, at least.
I can post from my work computer, my tablet, my phone…just not my laptop. I don’t understand.
I get the your connection is not secure etc message on my desktop from a number of websites, including Cutetropolis, because my operating system is so old.
