The magpie is hilarious. Each time the cat wheels around to look at the creature following, the magpie turns away , looking in a different direction, to show it is NOT following the cat.

I can just hear him whistling as he turns away! The approach he’s taking looks very human.
Bedhead on Wendy and Peter will keell you. Lethally cute.

School classes would certainly be enhanced if they had regular visits from fuzzy students. Possum was just trying to get an education.

That magpie clearly has a death wish, lol, and kitty obviously has eyes in the back of his head!

I’ve had spiders and mice fall from a dropped ceiling I would have much preferred a cute possum.
Magpie stalking cat is hilarious and I think the cat knows better than try to go after it, those magpies can be vicious.

The possum would be welcome in any class! It’s so weird that Australian possums look very unlike US possums.
I’m glad the homeowners left the baby elk alone. I would feel highly complimented if a wild animal left a young one on my property!
Will the kittens eyes turn brown eventually?

The name “opossum” is from Algonquin. It seems to me that the first English settlers saw the Virginia opossum and asked the natives what the heck it was, because seriously. Then the first colonists to settle Australia had heard that the ‘possum was a small, fuzzy, tree-climbing mammal with a pouch. Being unclear on the details and what the apostrophe meant, they reused the name. Kinda.

thank you for clearing that up! 🙂 I have always wondered, but never long enough to sit down and ask google. Turns out – Cutetropolis is just as informative.

Magpie wants fluff for the nest. Now pondering how I might leave out the hair I brush from my cat for birds to use in their nests, without just releasing it to blow around the neighborhood.

I put out my very fluffy bunny fur when he’s shedding. I usually try to put it near where I know birds nest, or someplace sheltered from the wind, but close to my bird feeder. They don’t really need it as much during the summer so I save it in plastic bags to leave out in winter and spring. You can try drapping it over the branches of bushes and that may have it stay until a bird sees it.☺️
We just did a weaving project for nesting birds. You can find it at schachtspindle.com, in the May newsletter.

I just checked it out. Good Idea! Maybe I can do something with crochet…

Very cool but way above my textile skillset. But maybe a net of some kind hung from tree branches…

Thank goodness I don’t live anywhere near Montreal or I’d be putting my name in for Peter & Wendy. Love the names, love their floofiness, they are beyond cute. Happy they have each other. Magpie vs cat cracked me up, such human behavior. No, no, nooo, I’m not following you. Just looking at the scenery, do-ta-do, do-ta-do. Considering my backyard, I’m really surprised I haven’t had anything left on my doorstep but if it was wouldn’t be as cute as the elk calf. That dog house is amazing but the price is gulp inducing. I think I paid less for my first house.

Ceiling possum is somewhat disturbing when seen upside down like that.
I did something last month that I finally confessed to this weekend. Two of my younger sister’s sons are fireman crazy. They both have learning issues and are being homeschooled. They have a website devoted to our city’s firemen, and are welcomed in all the fire halls. Neither of them will ever become firemen, and this devotion is as close as they’ll ever get. So last month, I wrote to the fire department and asked if my nephews might be allowed to ride in one of the engines for our Canada Day parade.
The answer? A unanimous YES! And when I told the boys what I had done, I was nearly squashed to death from exuberant hugs. I think I’m going to need chiro, but it was worth it.
Goth corgi is my new favourite term.
Wow, Derby is one cool Dude. I don’t know anymore surfer talk (except hang 10) but this doggo is all that and more!
Stalking the cat is too funny! Cat makes it look like he’s not sure!🤣🤣
I just love the idea of fur lined nests. When I was a kid our farm dogs always got a thorough brushing out in spring. We would take all the loose fur and plant it in the caragana hedge. From there it would literally fly lol 🤣.

I call matchingks on those two! And they’re hilarious.
Haven’t clicked anything yet but I want to cuddle those little creamsicle floofs.
Magpie: “What?”
(I’m not sure he’s as stealthy as he thinks he is…)

That’s fantastic, Duckie. So happy for the boys.
That’s such a lovely and loving idea Duckie!

Wish the dog temple came in cardboard for my cats. It’s gorgeous and George would love to sit on the peaks.
Elk daycare sounds like fun.
