I know I’ve asked this before but I think I need those memory drugs! I have a sweetie whose picture I’d like to submit but I know there’s a specific address for that…
And Teller is most definitely plotting something…. Too innocent looking…

    Mike, you crack me up!!😂

I think Tellar is just plotting how to make your day _better_!😉

Thank you for that smile Teller, I really needed something cute this morning.

Back pain and sciatic nerve are acting up something fierce this morning, I can hardly walk. I really hate that I’m going to spend the day with ice packs and pain killers and I’m going to miss going out on this lovely Spring day. 😡😩

I hope everyone is feeling better than I am and has a lovely weekend.

Oh no. So awful G! Hopefully you feel better soon.

Teller has a Mona Lisa going on. 😸

So sorry! Hope your pain subsides and you can enjoy the weekend.

Look at sweet face! He can’t be plotting anything, I just don’t believe it. But if I do go missing, I’ve got a 1/2 acre to dig up and three sheds to check.

Sorry to hear about the back pain Georgiana, I feel you pain, literally. Hubby has the same issues and lots of time he’s just hobbling around. Then there’s me with back pain and fibromylagia, some days it’s all I can do to get up and moving. Plus the cold damp weather the last few days hasn’t helped. Feel better so you can get out and enjoy the nice weather.

Not much going on this weekend, haircut plus grocery shopping and other errands today. Hubby has a car show tomorrow while I stay home with puppers. The show is about two hours away and we don’t feel comfortable leaving them alone for 12 hours. I’ll spend the day doing some shopping for storage stuff. I started organizing the hall closet this week and there’s a few more things to finish up plus putting the molding up in the bathroom. Happy Spring everyone. Get out and soak up the sunshine if you got it.

Happy Caturday! Have chores to do…supposed to get “heavy rain later”; at least it’s not as hot as it was the last couple days (I had to turn on the air on Thursday night because it was 84 degrees in here). Today’s high is supposed to be 75.

      Ha! 😁

      How’s your mom doing?

      • allein🐾 April 15, 2023 / 12:04 pm

        So far, so good..

I had blood drawn yesterday and the results are already in my chart online. I don’t entirely know how to interpret them (they give a range of acceptable/normal to compare to, and most items were within that) but my cholesterol, while still “high” is lower than last time, so that seems like a good thing (relatively speaking, at least). My blood sugar was right at the top of the range, though, and another thing (albumin, which I had to google), was high but what I found said high levels can be caused by dehydration and I had almost nothing to drink all day Thursday and just a little water yesterday morning so that might just indicate a temporary situation. Vitamin D and B12 levels were within range but towards the lower end…I haven’t been eating very much lately (mostly due to anxiety issues), and as I work on eating more I’m trying to add in good stuff and not junk.

This is of course anecdotal, but my doc scared me with raised sugar readings, saying she may have to start prescribing something for it, but then said come back in 6 months (right after winter holidays!), no pills yet. I started educating myself with a diabetes w/o drugs book: three square meals about 5 hours apart, no snacks. The only thing I really watched was refined sugars (no cookies), but ate as usual, was not hungry. Readings were better at the next visit and as a bonus I had lost weight!

      Love it!

  7. Alice Shortcake April 15, 2023 / 10:15 am

There’s not much going on at the Shortcakery at the moment, but I’m already counting down the hours until the arrival of the handyman on Monday morning – I can’t wait to see all the new furniture assembled, the blinds up, and some pictures back on the walls! The front bedroom/study has looked like a junk shop for so long I can barely visualize it as a room any more. Incidentally, some of the cardboard boxes I’m using to store stuff in have “Upper Stowe” written on them – they were used in a move 43 years ago!

    • Dulcie April 15, 2023 / 11:17 am

It is amazing how long some cardboard boxes have been in our lives. And how many memories seeing one can evoke. I unearthed a box with “Biochem notes” scrawled on it a while ago. Sheesh. 40 years since I lugged that around.

You’ll have to send in some photos. Arranging a renovated space is so much fun.

Teller looks so gorgeous, as always, and so happy–love those cat smiles!

My weekend excitement all happened yesterday: I took the day off for Yarn Fest and went shopping with a friend. She’s now the happy owner of an inkle loom–her first foray into weaving. I brought home a little yarn, a goodly amount of spinning fiber, and a tee that says Weavers Do It In The Shed. (The shed is the space between raised and lowered warp yarn, where the shuttle goes. It’s a hilarious pun IMHO.) As per tradition, it snowed yesterday. We got up into the 80s earlier in the week.

Now I have two days for chores and finishing up various yarn projects. It’s always so good to get them finished! Then I can start new ones!

  9. Duckie 🐥 April 15, 2023 / 12:29 pm

Teller looks very sneaky there, Muppet. Be careful.
    Quiet day in Duckieville.
Being sent for bloodwork on Monday; something’s not right.
Hubby’s work schedule is so messed up that we don’t know from day to day if he’s working or not. Our transit system is on strike here, so if someone can’t make it in, hubby gets called.
Duckie landed on hubby’s head and immediately took off, scaring the wits out of him. She flew back to her cage and chuckled.
Planting deck garden today, between rain showers.
    Have a good weekend, everyone.
