Those look like very cuddly kitties! *smooch*💋
These kitties are so pretty!
This was me yesterday. Had the hardest time getting out of bed. I also fell asleep twice at my aunt’s on Thursday (once before dinner, even!). I think maybe the “less drowsy” dramamine (which lasts ~24 hours) is affecting me differently than it used to…
The first little one is adorable, making me suspect the others would be, so I snort-laughed at #2!
OMG what cuties! We don’t deserve dogs.
I didn’t realize there were more! Such cuties and a few derps. #3 looks like they melted into the floor.
What cutie pies! They are welcome to come sleep in my plants anytime they want.
I had a little health scare this week, I had an appointment with my doctor to get the results of my annual blood test etc. So I was sitting in the waiting room when my Apple Watch sent me an alert saying that my heart rate was up to 120 when I appeared to be inactive.
I showed the doctor my watch’s alert and told her it had happened a couple of time in the past year. She examined me and confirmed my heart was still beating too fast and she gave me a paper to pass an ECG at rest at the hospital. I went the next day since you don’t even need an appointment! It’s a simple test you lay on a gurney, they put electrodes around your heart and on your writs and ankles, the test itself took about a minute. I’m not overly worried about it but still, I’ll be glad when I get the results.
In happier news, if there are other Doctor Who fans in Cutetropolis Happy 60th! I can’t wait to watch the first special with David Tennant and Catherine Tate later today!
Hope the test is okay!🤞🏽
Georgiana, we’re sending good wishes and healing purrs.
A new Doctor Who special with my fave doctor and companion? Thanks so much for the heads up!
Sending best wishes, Georgiana!
Such cuties! I don’t have any plants to keep warm but they can always come snuggle and keep me warm. Plus I have blankets! And a heated recliner! Allein, me and you were in the same boat yesterday. Me and hubster took a drive up the coast and I kept dozing off for mini naps. Thank goodness he was driving, lol. I think it was the combo of the motion of the car and the sun being out so the inside of the car got nice and cozy. That is kinda scary Georgiana about the heart rate, good thing you had an episode at the doctor’s office so she can get to the bottom of it. Fingers crossed for a good outcome.
I get to brave the mall today. I desperately need some jeans and finding none at my favorite thrift store, I’m heading out to the sales. I’ve heard it’s not as bad as in the past but I still feel like I need a bull whip and a black belt in karate to deal with people, lol. Happy weekend everyone!
I went to Target on Thanksgiving weekend years ago; they had a set of dishes that I wanted for $18. I went around 8:00 on Saturday night and it was pretty quiet. Though I did have to hunt down the dishes because everything was mixed up and nothing was behind the correct shelf tags.
Cold, sunny weekend. Turned heat on for first time this fall, and these two lovelies are welcome to come and share it.
Busy week. Sewing, cleaning, stockpile shopping, a cold, minor eardrum rupture, family squabble, list making, prepping for work start next week.
Duckie is learning to play peek-a-boo, and I am having so much fun. At one point, I stayed too long behind her cage cover, and she came looking for me, making anxious squeaky noises.
Last of seasonal shopping on Monday, Christmas and winter, and then things will settle down. Looking forward to it.
Have a fantastic weekend, everyone.
These two sweeties have such pretty faces. I’m guessing they’re Abyssinians from the face shape and the overall color. Plus they’re good at their jobs.
It’s still snowing here. It started Thursday and continued off and on all day yesterday, so my friends and I skipped a concert we’d been looking forward to. Three old ladies on slippery roads, in the dark, seemed like a bad idea.
My week of leisure is nearly over. I will try to shift my indigo vat today and overdye a stained sweater, then all the dyeing stuff will get packed up for the next long weekend. It turns out, ice dyeing is really fun and works even on animal-blend fibers! Will try to share some photos once I get them onto Ravelry.
Happy Caturday, everybody.
The cat on the left looks mildly annoyed that anyone would question the wisdom of his plant-warming activities. Georgiana, I hope you get good results re your health scare – I still have no idea what caused my Deranged Liver Function last summer but it seems to have sorted itself out.
Earlier today I arrived home from a four-night stay in Haworth. The weather wasn’t too good for the first two days but I managed to visit quite a few places of interest where my ancestors once lived. On the way to Hebden Bridge the bus passed a terraced row of houses rejoicing in the name of New Delight, one of which was the home of my great-great-grandparents in the 1870s. But the highlight of my trip was probably Heptonstall, one of the strangest places I’ve ever visited – the tiny picturesque village is dominatated by two churches, one of which was allowed to fall into ruin after being damaged in a storm, and is a place of literary pilgrimage due to the grave of Sylvia Plath in the modern cemetary.
Can you imagine living in a place as old as this?! When I went to England with a college class in 1985, one of the things that really got to us was how OLD everything is! Boggles the mind, I say!
“America is a country where 100 years is a long time, and England is a country where 100 miles is a long way.” – ?
Good point. Had a friend who had friends from England visit and they wouldn’t take a trip to Chicago—too far!
(2.5 hour drive)
Sounds like a lovely trip. I adore that part of England, though I haven’t been up there in years.
If anyone’s interested, here are the results of my ice-dyeing adventures:

My indigo vat finally produced some useable results!
Ooh, pretty! I don’t know what ice dying is but I really like the dark blue shade in the multicolored one.
Those are awesome! Never heard of ice dyeing before.
I like the purple into blues👍🏼
