What a cute teeny tongue!
Rainy and very humid hereš§ļø Cleaning to do š and other icky chores! So I suppose the rain fits my mood!
A gorgeous kitten fully ready to manage her staff.
Happy Caturday…I have a headache for the third day in a row…but at least I didn’t wake up at 5am like I’ve been doing the past few days.
The dogs were good…poor little bee-stung Clouds made the top 10.
So much happiness! Sign language dog amazed me.
A little musicalĀ interlude for Caturday…
Belated thanks for this! It’s just lovely.
It has been a busy day! I mentioned I was getting a new car. Thank heavens I did not get caught up in the CDK cyberattack. But lots of running around, dealing with insurance and AAA. Then shopping. Bought mulch for my plants that are slowly dying in the heat. And dinner is souvlaki and tzatziki. Not bad for the first day of summer vacation – make every day count!
Add some babaganoush and you have a trio of funny-sounding dishes to your story.
Heya, Fritz, congrats on the new wheels! I was able to pick my new car up on Tuesday. I lovvveee ‘her’. And is yours a she or he?:) How are you with the learning curve of bells and whistles?! I am spending my Canada Day long weekend attempting to get to know all about her… my new ‘zoom broom.’
@FKAWaldenPond
I am getting used to a “modern” car… my last one was a 2010! I miss the CD player already! What did kind of Mazda did you get? I wish you many years of happiness with her (I’m not sure about gender or name yet… will have to think about it as we drive to and from a Renaissance exhibition today (Sunday)!
Happy Canada Day! š
Thank you, Fritz for the well wishes! I hear you re no cd player, but I have gone full Sirius subscription mode (don’t like commercials) and Spotify to hear entire albums to replace the CD feature. I previously drove a manual stick shift Hyundai Veloster and really loved it– but you can’t get manual stick shift really anymore unless you buy high performance or a sedan. I wanted something slightly higher off the ground, powerful and sporty. I chose not to afford a luxury vehicle (maintenance costs are bonkers) and repeatedly, review upon review recommended the Mazda CX 30– I went with the Suna Turbo– and I tell ya, five days in of driving, she’s an absolute blast and everyone keeps remarking on how good the colour is. Like random people/acquaintances first thing they say is how much they like the colour.
Clearly, I am in love, as I could go on and on and continue to bore you… š I hope you had a great drive today and wish you years of happiness as well!
I need this kitten. To heck with the rest of my day. I NEED this kitten.
Itās been a weird week weather wise, we went from boiling hot to needing to take out my winter blanket to sleep and weāre expecting record setting amounts of rain today.
Otherwise itās been same old same old around here, Minnie seems to be doing OK with the new medication strength.
Hope every one has a good weekend.
Good news about Minnie. Hope your hubby is doing well too.
It’s great to be back on Caturday! Happy day to you all.
I had a great time in Niagara Falls with my family, and came back with a big collection of wonderful memories, especially related to my juvenes fratrorum. I’m also really glad to be home–I do not love having all my routines out of whack. And it was really humid! A heat advisory when it was in the 80s Fahrenheit seemed crazy, until we were outside waiting in lines. I sweated off half my body weight, it felt like.
Now I’m getting ready for a houseguest next week. This is one of my dearest friends, another yarnie/spinner who is taking home my old table loom. We’ll have a week to play with yarn, looms, etc. We might even rearrange my studio because I just ordered a loft bed: it’s a small room with 9 foot ceilings, so getting stuff off the floor will be a big improvement.
Hugs to you all!
The loft sounds cool in a room with high ceilings! Send a pic!
Yup! Welcome to summer Southern Ontario weather– it changes from suffocating heat and humidity to breezy weekly– sorry you got the intense humidity week. š
I tried starting the day with good breakfast but that didnāt happen because 1) kitten wasnāt there and 2) I was served a regular waffle instead of the gluten free one I ordered. Had a talk with the manager because it really isnāt that big a deal for me as I can tolerate some gluten but if it was someone with Chrones or a real allergy, it could have been serious. Already been to the library, and the store. Hitting an Open House for a place my friends might buy and then probably not too much. Still building my Lego Notre Dame, Iām about 1/2 way done so I need to step it up if Iām to finish before our clubās exhibition next week. Enjoy the weekend!
My poor little Duckie just lost both of her long tail feathers at once and is over three inches shorter!

Thatās weird. She must look odd. She needs extra treats to compensate!
But I ALWAYS start my day with a bowl of delicious cat food!
Well, I arrived home from an enjoyable five days in Whitby this afternoon. The weather was much nicer than I expected and my B&B room overlooked the sea – I could actually lie in bed and enjoy a view of the harbour through the French windows! On the bus journey out I noticed a field in which seven or eight baby goats were leaping about. Just when I thought nothing could be cuter, a couple of young emus emerged from behind a tree and started sprinting round the field. Yes, it’s amazing what you can find in Yorkshire…
Work on the loft conversion starts on Monday. I’m just hoping there isn’t too much noise and mess, but it’s nice to think that by this time next week it will all be over.
Oh wow! Sounds like a great trip, and now youāve got the loft conversion.
