Stre-e-e-etchingks IS labor! Good for the spine. How kitteh’s human resists stroking that fluff is a mystery

Legs for days! And kitty’s human may have learned that there’s consequences for huffing the fluff, lol. Small murder mittens are still murder mittens.

Got a few things going on this weekend, haircut today, local Indian Pow Wow probably tomorrow and maybe some pool time. Were also dog sitting our neighbors 13 year old beagle named Barney. He’s such a sweet boy.

Still no resolution to the ceiling yet. Been approved to finally have a contractor in to replace the drain pan and clear any clogs in the drain line. Then it’s on to repairing the ceiling. As someone once said, it’s been a long, strange journey.

Thor’s doing ok for the moment but still honking away. Radiologist concurs that there’s something there near his heart and this Friday, the vet will do a needle aspiration biopsy to determine exactly what’s going on. Fingers crossed it’s something minor and treatable.

For all my US peeps, enjoy the long weekend.

      Fingers crossed for Thor🤞🏽

Same here! And hoping you get the ceiling situation resolved SOON. At least you’ve got approval for the next steps.

Sending good wishes for Thor and and end to ceiling drama.

Happy Caturday, everyone! Long kitten is very long, and oh so cute.

I didn’t get any dyeing planned, but I think the weekend will be productive nevertheless. I have 3 more napkins to weave, for a set of 4. I’ve got postcards to write as part of my volunteering. An extensively cabled sweater to knit, which has to be done to audiobooks instead of TV, so I can watch what I’m doing. And I’ll finally finish my Shogun audiobook, which is 53 hours long–a new record for me! I’ve got about 10 hours to go!

Maybe I’ll even have time to plan a handspun Fair Isle cardigan. It’s been in my queue for a few years. Before I can spin the yarn, I have to figure out relative amounts of each color, dye the base colors from Shetland wool, and then blend other colors in to heather them. If I plan now, I can dye in small batches.

Hugs to you all, and if you’re celebrating Labor Day on Monday, enjoy it to the full.

Happy Caturday! I had an appointment on Thursday but she texted me that she was running a few minutes late so I went to PetSmart across the street to look at kitties in the adoption center. They were all babies! (I think the oldest was 4 months old.) One of them was an 11-week-old light orange kitty who was sleeping (most of them were sleeping; the ones who weren’t were just chilling), and the label on the window said he was a polydactyl. After a bit he stood up to stretch before curling back up on his other side and I got to see his thumbs!

Also buck tooth kitten is dedly cute.

Oh I love a stretchy kitty. Jacques loves to be picked up and held so he can stretch his legs down to his toes.
Very happy for the long weekend. Need to make a trip to IKEA for a new bed frame other errands as well. It’s going to be a quiet homebody weekend for me, and I’m very excited about it.

That’s a very nice belly that kitten is showing I would risk the murder mitten to give it a few scritches.

Minnie is doing reasonably well except her back legs are starting to give her a little trouble especially when she wakes up after sleeping for a while, but she still manages to jump on the couch when she wants to and she’s been eating well these past few days.

It’s a rainy Saturday here but we had nothing planned so I don’t care.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Greetings, Cutetropolitans, from Mutz in Vienna! It’s been a lovely summer, but all good things must come to an end. School starts Monday and I’ll be teaching 8 (count ’em eight!) classes, plus I’m gonna be a form teacher (home room teacher + guidance counselor). Enjoying my last weekend of freedom with y’all!

    Quiet sunny day in Duckieville.

I want to pick that kitten up and play it like a concertina.

It’s been a quiet week at the Shortcakery but I did stumble across a fascinating, if rather morbid, nugget of local history. A nearby pub stands on the site of an earlier pub, The Maypole, owned by one Dame Robinson. In 1647 two maids employed there, sisters Helen and Elizabeth Drysdale, poisoned their boyfriends by adding oxalic acid to their drinks. Both men, joiner Robert Boss and woolcomber Robert Blanchard, were dead an hour later and the Drysdale sisters were hanged. Incredibly, the following year another maid, Grace Bland, burned the pub down and was hanged for arson. I can imagine poor Dame Robinson surveying the smouldering ruins and thinking “Why is it so difficult to get good help these days?”
