Happy Caturday! Not totally happy, though.
We’re doing my parents’ anniversary dinner tonight. I stopped on my way home and got a couple balloons to put on the table. My aunt and uncle and an old family friend and her husband are coming. My cousin and her husband were also supposed to come but their grandson was just diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia. He’s almost six. The good news is google tells me it’s highly treatable with a 90% cure rate. So they went down to stay with them for a while. He’ll be in the hospital for a couple weeks and apparently the first couple weeks of treatment will be rough. Was also supposed to go to my friend’s birthday party this afternoon but found out yesterday her husband is in the hospital. He was treated for cancer a couple years ago (surgery/radiation) but now it’s back in his spine (they think it’s the same cancer but are waiting for biopsy results). So no birthday party. Too much cancer.
But the dogs were good. Including the feline one.
Okay, the barking cat is hysterical! And I love the help the Beagle is giving to that horse☺️ Can’t believe the horse is letting him, must be itchy? The Golden Retriever pup’s sploot is adorable. Love how Shadow just gave in to it!
I’m in total agreement with everything you just said.
The anti-poaching dogs came up in Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s weekly email. It sounds like a fantastic system for everyone involved, except of course the poachers who need to find less harmful ways to make a living. Of course, if there were no demand for this stuff, that would be the best thing of all.
Allein, I’m so sorry about the health news in your circle. Fingers crossed for everyone.
Hamster has a beautiful view! So relaxing, until something dared step in his yard😂
Hey, get off my lawn!!!! Love when Hamster makes an appearance.
Allein, sorry to hear about all the cancer going right now. That sucks, especially for the kid. Try to enjoy the dinner anyway. If I remember right, its 55years. That is an accomplishment!
Quiet weekend here, trying to recuperate from hubby being gone all week, and me having to do everything – dogs, keeping me clean and fed, work, and anything else that came up. I was going to do some gardening but it’s raining this morning so maybe later or tomorrow. There’s also an Art Fair downtown that I want to go to, have to decide if I want to wander in the rain or not. Also house cleaning and laundry should be done along with making breakfast for next week. I think I need one more day in my weekend, lol. Have a good weekend, and hope you have nicer weather than me.
Yes, 55.
It rained here, too. The ground is starting to dry now but might be more later.
And now for something different…Binturong zoomies!
I’ve never seen a bear cat with the zoomies! Amazing! And glorious.
Saturday. Need I say more?
Hamster you are beautiful. I love you.
Not much happening here. Baby Baptism this morning, then sewing frenzy. Have wiped the rest of the week from my memory.
Have a fantastic weekend, everyone.
Lurking today, not fit for society have a good weekend.
Motivation is not happening this morning. I’m still in bed, need to run to the bakery for bread, should see if it rained enough last night to yank out some stubborn weeds, and I should clean. Allergies are in full crippling force. yuck.
Hamster, I’m so glad you are on the look out! You certainly make a confident figure. I’d be glad to have you around supervising.
Allein, I hope you have a nice time with your parents. Sorry to hear of all of the other illness. I hope things go well for your friends.
hugs to everyone!
Now I have to research what a binturon is and see if I need one.
From the comments it seems that they (or at least this one) is normally kinda slow and lazy.
Fun fact: It is also known as the bearcat.
I’m pretty sure you do. I know I do!
I love the towel an the water dish specifically set out for Hamster’s comfort.
I guess it must be one of the many reasons the fancy lamp is still standing on the table.
Hugs, Georgiana.
This was supposed to be a reply to Georgiana, obviously. I was posting comments too fast and WordPress punished me.
Happy Caturday, and Hamster’s regal appearance ices the cake. I’m glad he takes such good care of his estate.
I’ve been sewing all morning, trying to finish my latest creation for dinner tonight with friends. But it’s better to stop when I need inspiration, than to muscle through. My friends, who are also sewists, will get to see photos. It’s a simple cardi made from handwoven fabric, made from my handspun yarn. I plan to make some videos for YouTube tomorrow, since I won’t have time today.
Now it’s time to move around for errands. I’m desperate to get some unwanted furniture out of my condo, so I can move around more easily and find a good spot for my wider rigid heddle loom. Then it will also be easier to do a big yarn survey and reorg, following Marie Greene’s wonderful advice in The Joy of Yarn. I heard her speak a few months ago on a different topic and she’s just fantastic.
So wish me luck on all my big plans! And hugs to you all, especially if you had a rough week. Sounds like rough weeks have been going around.
