Welcome to the Caturday open thread. Fans of Disney parks love to look for “hidden Mickey” shapes, but reader Tara O. shares one you’ll only find here in our chat room:
Please consider these pics of Butch’s foot pads, where clearly he is hiding Mickey Mouse.

Happy Caturday! My dad has finally been working on my Christmas present this week, fixing my screens (he’s coming later to do the last one)! (The gift is the work; I will pay him back for the materials.) He also put some silicone spray on the windows yesterday so they open more easily, though I haven’t tested that yet because it’s been kinda cold the last couple days. Wednesday was rainy and cold enough that my heat came on for the first time in weeks (at least that I’ve noticed) around 9:15 pm, and it was running when I woke up this morning (and just kicked on as I’m typing…it’s late May, right?). It’s 55 now and and the high is supposed to be 63.
But the dogs were good…happy for both Roo and the Pixar lamp.
I had to watch the couch-roller-offer twice before I noticed that there was another dog on the couch with a food bowl firmly clamped in his mouth – probably a gentle hint regarding dinnertime.
In other news, I went for a pre-op eye exam on Tuesday and the surgery is confirmed for next Thursday morning. Apparently I may have to wear an eyepatch for a couple of days, which sounds like fun of a piratical variety…
As a result of the unexpected cost of recent repairs to the Shortcakery roof I was obliged to cancel two holidays and considered cancelling the third, a July trip to Stratford-upon-Avon to see “The Winter’s Tale” and Somerset Maugham’s “The Constant Wife” (starring Rose Leslie and Kate Burton). However, as the B&B is so reasonably priced I’ve decided to treat myself!
I missed the dog in the background! š
I love how he just settled where he landed like he totally meant to do that.
It’s good to treat yourself. Are you getting a parrot to go with the eye patch? No reason to wait until September to celebrate Talk Like A Pirate Day.
Thank dog for this weekly video. It’s the best thing ever.
Can I build a tiny house in Andrew’s garden and live there in the spring?
“Two bees or not two bees. That is…awful.”
I had not had my coffee yet when I read your comment here and I was really excited to get a behind-the-scenes peek at Andrew Y’s life. š
Pure magic. I want to live in Andrew’s garden.
It’s almost time for garlic scrapes at the Farmer’s Market near me. These are the green parts of the garlic plant. When you roast, saute, or steam them, they are positively delicious. I wonder if wild garlic scrapes cook up well.
Butch is lovely. Personally, I see a teddy bear.
Buch is very handsome, I love tuxedo cats!
Last week we had a mini winter, we had days when the daytime temperature barely reached 9C/48F with cloudy skies and rain pretty much all the time but starting Monday temperature will start going back to normal and we’ll have sun all week they say.
I had to put the food for the outside cat right next to the patio doors so it didn’t get rained on and my two girls just sat on the other side of the glass and looked at her/him eating with no reaction, Minnie would have been spitting at it like crazy!
Well that’s it for me, I’m off the do laundry hope everyone has a nice weekend.
Good Morning Everyone!
I’ve been enjoying the cooler weather these past few days. Windows closed, extra quilt on the bed and cats still sleeping with me. Today I’m headed over to New Jersey to the Berlin “Farmers Market.” Allein I’ll wave to you as I drive by! I need some new rolling window shades and they had some nice ones there. I’m hoping the shop is still there and selling them. If not, it will be a nice adventure all the same. Then gardening and a few other very necessary house tasks.
Happy day everyone.
You’ll still be a good 60-ish miles southwest of me (so sez Google Maps, depending on the route you take), but I’ll watch for your wave nonetheless. šš»āāļø
Aww such a cutie Butch is. Love tuxies, they’re always dressed appropriately for any occasion. Interesting toe bean shape plus what’s not to love about multicolor beans. Its like getting two different kinds of chocolate in the same bag.
Mother nature still doesn’t know what season it is, we’ve been swinging from very warm, to cool and rainy but at least for this week she’s settled on 70ish temps with sun in the afternoon. Today will be kinda quiet and relaxing. Been fighting an ear (& possible sinus) infection so most of this week has been just a haze. Breakfast first then getting the car serviced, and painting class later today. Hope everyone has a good weekend.
I have been contemplating avian homicide for several hours today. Mr. Iām-so-happy-to-be-awake-at-3am-I-have-to-tell-the-world Robin.
Weather here still cold and damp.
Little Duckie is somewhat wheezy today. But she seems happy.
Crazy busy in Duckieville.
Have a great weekend, everyone.
