Chloe is a very smart angel–perhaps quite a bit brighter than some of the others this week.
It feels wrong to laugh so hard, given all of today’s sad news. But it also reminds me to love as hard as possible, even knowing that we won’t get enough time with our beloved anipals.

Agreed. It reminds us that life has ups as well as downs, laughter as well as tears, joy even when our hearts are breaking.
How about a very fluffy, very well-behaved kitty getting a bath (who is not grumpy despite the title, she just looks that way).

Muppet, I am very sad for your loss of Penny. And you as well, Duckie! I have just lost my dear bunny, Fergus, at 12 years, so I am in the same frame of mind, so empathize deeply.
Yes, I’m still here, lurking. I don’t even see Cutetropolis every day since I don’t have a lot of time to go through emails. It is now over two years that my husband has been pretty much bed bound from Parkinson’s. But I’m so happy to see the names of old friends and that the group tootles along happily. We need all the happy we can find these days. Bless you all

This is the absolute worst, saddest day in Cutetropolis. Too many of our dear companions went to the bridge today. Run, fly, and hop free babies. I think I’m going to crawl back into bed, maybe tomorrow will be better. Or post a sign, saying “I’m not adulting today. I’ll be in my blanket fort, coloring.”
These are all valid reactions to today’s news.
Rain has come to central New Jersey, which feels fitting.
I noticed a little while ago that my weather app said severe thunderstorm watch until this evening, and the AC just shut off but I was still hearing a rushing sound and realized it was pouring!
Violent thunderstorms in NYC right now. Very fitting for today.
The sun came out right after, but then the clouds came back and it rained again. It’s stopped for the moment but still cloudy and a bit breezy.
….and it started up again as I was typing….
I need to take a shower but I don’t like to when it’s stormy…

So sorry for these losses….but so glad you were able to share their lives with us for so long, even if it is never long enough. May the cat-shaped, rabbit-shaped, and bird-shaped holes in your hearts heal a little every day as you remember the joys you shared with them.
