Just what I needed this morning. Koalas are just the cutest things.
Its pouring rain here and as I tried to go down to the subway a horde of people came back up and said that we had to catch the train on the other track. That means that the trains in both directions have to use one track and it is a big waiting mess. I said forget this and walked one block south and waited for the bus. Had to wait in the rain for five minutes, but it was worth it. Just waiting for my coworker who comes the same way but from the other side of town to get started for the day.
Happy Friday everyone! I think we’re getting take out for lunch. 😊
It’s miserable! And so windy while I was getting ready for work. Then I got passed by an ambulance on the highway (not going to an emergency, just passing in the left lane) just as it hit a giant puddle and sent a sheet of water washing over my windshield; that was a scary moment. The wind died down by the time I got here, at least, so I didn’t get soaked by sideways-rain walking in from the parking lot. My 30 minute drive took almost 45, though. I managed to leave early and still got here just on time. But it shouldn’t be raining by the time I leave tonight.
Oh gosh water on the windshield is so scary. I’m glad you are safe.
I don’t even usually take the highway but it feels safer in bad weather than my usual route, which includes a couple sections that curve through wooded areas with no shoulder or anything.
Glad you could catch the bus instead of waiting forever for a train.
We’re not getting rain here, thankfully–just super-powered winds. Stay safe, everybody in the Northeast and Northwest.
Me too! It’s only a block away. I did see a few other “subway folks” had the same idea as me. But only a few.
Commute home was no better. I risked the subway again. Got on at regular stop, long wait at next stop, finally information, the strong winds had felled trees on the tracks further along. My normal 10 minute ride took 30 minutes. Shouldn’t complain. I was dry and warm and on my way. Happy end of Friday!
I had a couple brief moments where I could feel the wind pushing against my car as I drove, but other than that my drive home was okay. I stopped at the store and when I opened my door the wind caught it and I was almost afraid it was gonna break off! Then when I was putting my grocery bags in the back seat the wind blew a piece of tissue paper out of a bag on the floor…and the wind was blowing from the other side of the car!
When I was a wee booblet I started a tradition in my house that all God’s creatures are welcome in the nativity scene. Throughout my childhood this focused on different creatures, ranging from dinosaurs to Unit 01 from Evangelion. At one point I tried to include a snake, but I was told it had theological implications.
Somewhere along the line, a long time ago, we added some little plastic sheep that are clearly not part of the original nativity set. But they are still there.
I love those koalas. 🐨 🩵
Yes, I wouldn’t mind having that job.
The polar bear story is lovely and heart-breaking at the same time. I want to know who gets to tag cubs and how I can apply for that job.
Three cat moms co-parenting 9 kittens! What a blast that household must be!
It’s raining with strong winds here, I just got back from the store and I’m soaking wet and I really would love to have a koala to snuggle with right now.
I love the 3 kitties raising the kittens together, such lovely moms.
