It’s Caturday, and we’re expecting a special delivery today: a big box of void. You wouldn’t expect a box of void to weigh so much, but apparently it’s pretty heavy, so we might need everyone to help lift it.

Well you know it is thought by some scientist that black matter is quite heavy which would explain why everyone is needed to help lift it 😉
I haven’t been very active these past few days because my husband has had some health problems that involved a trip to the hospital, he’s back home but not yet 100%, so I may be lurking for a little while longer.
Have a great weekend!
Sending good thoughts and healing purrs to you both.
Hang on!
(goes in search of forklift and treats)
I had a rather odd day out last Sunday, when I set out with the intention of visiting Grassington by bus. Just outside Ripon, on a road next to a canal, all traffic was blocked because a drowning victim had been discovered a few hours earlier. The double-decker bus had to take a weird lengthy diversion to avoid low-hanging tree branches…then, just outside Pateley Bridge, it began to experience electrical problems and was taken out of service when it entered the town. Rather than wait for a replacement bus to Grassington I chose to stay in PB and revisit my ancestral village of Bewerley, where I found a small wooded area with a duck pond. The second I sat down to eat my packed lunch eight ducks emerged in single file and I ended up being guilted into sharing my food with them.
Last night I spent an enjoyable evening at my local theatre watching London City Ballet performing Glen Tetley’s “Firebird” and John Neumeier’s “Ghost Light”. The next ballet on my calendar will be Northern Ballet’s “Cinderella” just before Christmas.
Hmmm. I didn’t know ducks have learned how to manipulate people.
Heh heh heh…
They surrounded my bench in a slightly menacing semi-circle and didn’t leave until I’d parted with most of a flapjack. Had I known that duck feeding would be on the day’s agenda I would have brought the waterbird food I forgot to take to Stratford-upon-Avon a few months ago!
Just don’t scream into this void.
The dogs were good. Percy is very smart.
May you sleep as soundly as Nala and Cooper tonight.
Someone please get Charlie a pup cup.

And all together now, heave to, and up!!! ***while sea chanties play in the background *** Beautiful little void, he can be shipped to me anytime.
Alice sounds like quite an adventure last weekend, and then those ducks! 😂😂🤣🤣 Guess begging and puppy dog eyes aren’t just for puppers anymore. Those performances sound wonderful. I’d love to go hear some classical music or take in an opera but sadly hubby’s interest doesn’t incline that direction. I did see some wonderful exhibits at the museum last week including some Indian art and Orthodox Church religious icons. I was walking through one exhibit, turned the corner, and there was a picture of my dad!! Not really, lol. It was some long dead Spanish duke that just had such an uncanny resemblance to my dad. When I texted a pic to my niece, she texted back “Holy crap that’s grandpa!!” And as far asI know I have no Spanish blood in me so no idea why he looked like an ancestor of mine. Still want to go back and look at the Cecil Beaton exhibit but since it’s here until Jan, I have time.
Vitamin shots after breakfast, then Lego club this afternoon. Doing some baking today too. Found in the NY Times, a recipe for pistachio polenta cake. New recipe so we’ll see how it goes. Tomorrow is grocery shopping and then who knows. If I’m up to it might go and find some new clothes. I’m happy to report after about 5 months I’ve dropped almost 20 lbs and I’m down a size in everything so now most of my clothes are just hanging on me. Thank goodness for thrift shops!!! I’m also trying to get back into painting now that the weather is back to normal. New week, new routines.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone. Hope it’s cool, sunny, and dry at your place.
When my cousin’s son (who’s in his early 30s now) was about 10, my aunt came across a picture of her father (my grandfather) at around the same age (which would have been 1915-ish). They showed it to my cousin’s son and his first reaction was “when did I wear that?”
My brother and his son looked so much alike when they were kids that sometimes I have to look at the clothes to figure out which one it is in the picture.
My brother and our father have a few pix in which they look identical. And I remember once hearing the two of them talking in another room and wondering why my dad was talking to himself at such length, and in such detail!
I just remembered another one… my mom has a series of four or five pictures of herself as a toddler (I call it “how to smile” because in the first she’s not smiling and each subsequent one has a slightly bigger smile until in the last she’s got a big grin…it’s so cute). My cousin’s youngest daughter looked just like her at the same age.
Voids are black holes, so it stands to reason they’re heavy. And gorgeous.
I’m running errands today, with the help of friends since I can’t drive. We’re returning my leased car and signing final paperwork on the new vehicle. Soon I’ll finally be all set up with the new car that I probably can’t drive until my wrist heals! Then I somehow have to fill the rest of the weekend with no fiber arts. Wish me luck.
Hugs to you all.
Healing purrs all around! Shall be trying to get some mats off Ekaterina Velikaya’s tummy. She’s usually a very chill cat, so hopefully we’ll both get through this unscathed. Nikolai Devinovich is usually the scruffier of the two, but he’s been taking unusually good care of his coat this week, probably to avoid the Dreaded Grooming.
Today is my mom’s birthday so we’ll go round to her place. She’s getting over bronchitis but feeling well enough for a lowkey party – meaning we order food, drink tea out of the (otherwise untouched) fine bone china, and watch a movie (however cheesy! 😆) of her choice. Fun times! Wishing everyone a good week ahead!!
Happy birthdy to your mom.
I need this void in my life.
Went to look at a condo for sale this week. Building itself looked nice, and was in an awesome area. When I went inside, the unit was quite dirty. The amenities were accessible only by stairs. Pet owners were required to have a psychologist letter confirming animal was a valid and certified therapy animal. A gang of teens lived there, because their care providers met the age restriction requirements. Teens could live there, but not a fish, unless it was certified! My current place is a piece of Heaven compared to that one.
On a more positive note, I got some extra disability funds this week, so I’ve started saving up for a new computer.
And I’m starting to think about getting a new budgie.
Have a great weekend, everyone.
Happy Caterday all!
Beautiful void, I bet he is a ton of bricks if he is anything like I my Jacques was. He would fall asleep between my legs and become an absolute boulder. There was no budging him.
Laptop display died Thursday. Dropped it off for repair which will be pricey but still less than a new one. Didn’t think to borrow one from work, so typing on iPad and not enjoying it.
Have read all comments and am sending mental message to all. ❤️
