Someone in Switzerland filmed what could be the cutest traffic jam on earth. Valais Blacknose sheep. White coats. Black faces. All over the road. In summer they live high in the Alps. In September they get walked back down to the village, washed, and shown at the local sheep festival. Cars wait. The flock does not. [📸: @ swiss_voyage via IG]

Oh my words! The sheets are all wearing flowers on their heads!
I’ve been reduced to a pool of goo on the floor.
The chamber of commerce part of me wants to set up a festival or media campaign around this.
Of course I meant sheep not sheets didn’t noticed that spellcheck changed it. Didn’t know the plural of sheep is sheep English is weird sometimes.
Not exactly cute, but very cool.
Eight Clams Control This Polish City’s Water Supply
This is in Poznań, Poland.

“Each worker mussel spends three months on duty — after that, they become too accustomed to their new surroundings and are no longer sensitive enough to properly monitor the water. For retirement, they are gently tossed back where they came from.”
Wow, that is amazing. I’m glad the mussels get to retire.
I never thought of using mollusks this way and then retiring them.
Know that people are using them to clean up pollution in places like NYC and rebuilding land bluffs in Louisiana.
This is amazing!!! Thanks for posting this. Brilliant, low tech, low cost, solution. And I’m glad the clams get to retire too.
