Blepping cats, rescued dog’s first Christmas indoors, woman raises orphaned squirrels, and a dramatic snake.
And finally: Argh! Ya Got Me!
The hognose snake is Nature’s drama queen, faking a death to avoid being eaten. Thérèse B. shares a dramatic example.
Hognose snakes are the drama queens of the serpent world.

Thanatosis is how the small snakes hope to avoid predation, theatrically fakings death. pic.twitter.com/xZsJWdIQLT
Loved the baby squirrels who became and stayed pals
even the Drama Queen Hognose is celebrating Tongue Out Tuesday!
And the Oscar goes to … dramatic snek!
New feature suggestion: Tippy-tap Tuesday!
Oh, good grief. I wish I’d taken video when dog-sitting the other day. My neighbor’s dog is going through a pacing phase. (Poor thing; she seems to have a touch of dementia, or perhaps it’s just aging not-so-gracefully. But she was a good friend to Ricky, and, more recently, to Bibi, and I love her.) Tippity-tap!
Taken straight from the soundtrack of a Busby Berkeley musical!
I’m overblepped by all the cute kitties.
Ded.
Whenever I see these one of these I want to put a sweater sock on them.
Exactly!!!
That hognose drama queen is pretty adorable, and I say that as someone who’s highly snake-phobic. The drooping tongue was icing on the cake.
I’m not a snake person but the hognose is on the cuter end of the danger noodle spectrum.
That was one snake-tacular performance by a “dead” animal. Definitely Oscar worthy. I’m getting thirsty looking at all those tongues sticking out and bleeping. Time to refill the water bottle!
Bleppy cats have reduced me to mush. What a collection of cuties!
