Tomb it May Concern

In hamlet and village ‘cross many a nation
We find fearless felines in grave situation
Within cemeteries aside ancient churches
Cats congregate in search of cool perches
For a crypt of concrete or a headstone of marble
Makes a soothing retreat to air out the harbles
So let’s hit the boneyard, that is if you’re willing
And enjoy this collection of cats who’re just chilling

in a graveyard, a black cat sits on a grave beneath an antique photograph of a woman. The cat is licking its face with its tongue.
I’m going to miss her. She was delicious.

a striped cat crouches on top of a tall headstone.
I prefer a high-rise, myself.

in a graveyard, a cat with orange fur sits on one of several tilted tombstones and looks down at the ground.
Wait, did something just move down there?

That first one had to be an expensive tomb! Never seen one with a photo.

Cats have such a great sense of balance. Many of those headstones look tippy.

“Air out the harbles” is a phrase I try to use daily. Usually in reference to squirrels.

I’ll admit ’tis not a word I think of often…

It baffles people, and I can walk away snickering.

I love old cemeteries and I love cats so I would be happy to spend some time with there with these adorable kitties.

I’d like to think they’re keeping the spirits company. Cats can see things we can’t, after all. I doubt any cats or other wildlife visit the memorial gardens my grandparents and father are buried at, but perhaps they do.
