Happy Caturday! Today’s visitor, from reader Jendeyan, is ready to lend a hand — because he has extra hands to lend. His name’s Polar and he has three extra toes on the front paws and one extra on the back paws. You can see more of him here and here.
lol…’IllegallySmolCats”…there is an reddit for everything.
“This perp appeared on the scene yesterday sporting advanced tactile sensory equipment on both front paws! Obviously, this criminal is armed and dangerous.”
Happy Caturday! I was off yesterday; had a dermatologist appointment. She removed a thing from my arm that was bothering me and sort of peeling at the edges(it might have just been getting friction from my sheets since I tend to sleep on that side); she doesn’t think it’s anything nefarious but is sending it to get tested. Have to get blood work but I don’t know if I’ll get there today. They’re only open until 11 and it’ll be busy on a Saturday…plus it’s 9:40 and I’m just getting up. Might just wait until Wednesday (I only work Monday and Tuesday next week so I don’t want to ask for more time, and my boss is on vacation…).
One of the contestants on Wheel of Fortune the other night has a miniature Doxie named “Penelope Longbottom (First of Her Name).” She is not among the week’s top 10, but she definitely has the best dog name I’ve heard in a while.

PS, according to the reddit post, Polar had a sibling who was similarly equipped. (The second links says sibling didn’t make it. 😔)

This kitty will grow up to use can openers.

Polar has an unfair built-in thwapping advantage!
Speaking of felines, there was a bit of drama earlier this week when Larry the 10 Downing Street cat fired his latest caretaker. The media described it as a “resignation” but I think we can all read between the lines. I know it’s hard to find good help these days but this is getting out of hand – looking at the list of people who’ve held the position I was shocked to realise that I’d forgotten Rishi Sunak’s name and Liz Truss’ existence.
The heatwave, which seems to be almost at an end, has kept me a prisoner in the house with the blinds down and electric fans on (AC being unheard of in 1904). Last night was the hottest I can remember – eventually I retreated downstairs where it was cooler and slept fitfully on a reclining garden chair!

The only reason I know of Liz Truss is because of the lettuce.

Has Larry thought to bring back Palmerston from his post in Bermuda?

“Dude, you’re making me dizzy…”

Hands down, you win the toe bean lottery. And such a cutie too.
Got new glasses yesterday, and ugh kinda forgot how difficult adjusting to a new script can be. I’m getting there but eyes are being grumpy and throwing a tantrum, I don’t wanna! I liked the old glasses. Even though I had to take them off to read any small print. Nothing too exciting this weekend. Dropping off a large amount of “stuff” at the thrift store this morning, and maybe do some cleaning. Tomorrow will be errands and checking out the new exhibits at the mueum. Enjoy the weekend! And hopefully it’s not too hot in your area.

Little kitten is extra cute with his extra toes.
I’m following Holly’s example for Top 10 dogs of the week and practicing Zen Time today just without the stick in my mouth 😉
Have a good weekend all.

I need to find myself a good Zen Time spot.

Actually, holding a pencil in your mouth (like a dog holds a stick) activates the smile muscles and is supposed to be a way to correct a bad mood!

So.many.beans. !!!
My weather app informs me that it is 105.8 degrees in Vienna right now and the heat will continue for at least the next few days. Unfortunately, there is still a week of school left and most of us spend those days taking students on field trips (I have a picnic scheduled for Monday with three classes and five other colleagues).
On a happier note, my seniors graduated last night and I am so touched that they honored me along with their homeroom teacher and their art teacher. A sweet card and a gift certificate. We have a long history together and they will always have a place in my heart!
So many toebeans!
