We have a special treat for today’s open thread, as reader Susan H. shares these delightful photos of Julius playing hide-and-seek with a deer friend:

He loves to hide in ferns, and as you can see, they provide excellent camouflage (“cat-mouflage”).

A pattern of light brown fern leaves. Hidden within them is the face of a cat, whose light orange markings nearly match the leaves and make him difficult to see.

He also likes to hide from the deer, usually with less success.
