Maru’s Halloween Curse

Maru sat in a cursed pumpkin shell
That made his life a living hell
And changed his tranquil destiny
A blockhead witch he now would be!

To break the spell, the witch did send
For Hana, wise and faithful friend
To help him conjure up a snack
And earn his former round head back.

That’s the cutest butternut squash I’ve ever seen!

Some bonus Halloween Maru, in which we see that Maru can fit into any container regardless of size, provided one is generous with the meaning of the word “fit.”

      “Are you satisfied?”

This made me howl out loud! Just when I think Maru can’t possibly get any weirder, or try to fit himself into something new…well, here it is!

This may be just me and my strange way of reading. But as I read this, I did it with the candence of “Peter, Peter pumkin eater, had a wife….” in the background. Wonder if Mike planned it this way? Do Maru & Hana live in Japan. If so, I didn’t think they did Halloween.

They do live in Japan, Halloween isn’t as big there for sure, but it’s been gaining popularity I think!
More about dressing up than giving out candy

Thanks Allein and Andrew. I learned something new today. Didn’t realize Japan started celebrating in 2000, thanks to Disney. I’m sort of like Japan, I don’t give out candy anymore. Stopped that years ago when the bigger/older kids started, when some apartment residents came by with car loads of kids and then heard about some residents being robbed, so that ended that.

I usually just buy a bag of something I’ll eat anyway, like individually wrapped Peppermint Patties, just in case. I bought a bag of Starbursts/Skittles, and one of mini Tootsie Pops, on a whim in the Halloween aisle a couple weeks ago. The Skittles are gone and if I get anyone I will give the Starbursts, since I realized that I ate too many yesterday and they gave me a sore throat and a sore spot on my tongue (did the same with the Skittles, actually). Must limit the acidic candy.
