Lonely geese thrive together, the cow comes home, best wildlife photos, and a wombat under the tree.
And finally: Someone Was Very Good Last Year!

Wombabies!!! ♥♥♥
Love the comedy wildlife photos, even though I’ve seen a lot of them before.
The comedy wildlife—hilarious!—has repeats cos it’s the winners of the 2023 contest. And I love them!😁
I’m not complaining!
I’ve had this relaxed little chimp from 2019 in my desktop wallpaper rotation since I first saw it.
For some reason he reminds me of a little old man sunbathing at an English seaside resort. All he needs is head (or bald spot) protection in the form of a handkerchief tied at all four corners like Monty Python’s Mr Gumby! I was privaleged to see an example of this whilst on holiday in Robin Hood’s Bay last year…
I thought that was only a Monty Python gag, it’s not a thing I’ve ever seen in Canada or in my travels in the U.S. LOL!
I can assure you that a hankie was once standard headwear for older working-class men on their summer holidays or for sunbathing in the back garden. I remember seeing my grandad sporting this quintessentially British look in the 60s, but it was quite a surprise to see it in 2023!
I want the backstory for this one:

I’m going with “children gonna children.”
The fact that baby langur is swinging off adults’ TAILS has me ROFLMAOing. The adults look nonplussed.
I wonder if it hurts their tails, or not?
Okay, to who do I need to suck up to get wombats (babies!eek!) under my Christmas tree?!🤨
I have the same question.
In the video the people who rescued that calf seem to have a next door neighbour so they don’t seem to live in the country. They must live in a very understanding town to have a pig and a cow as pets, my town only allows cats and dogs and they limit the number to 3 pets per household.
I’m gonna make a complaint to Santa. There were no wombats under my tree!!!! So unfair. Comedy photos had me laughing at every one of them. Good for the couple taking in the calf but hopefully they find a farm or sanctuary for when s/he gets bigger. Cuddling a calf is fun, not so much when they’re 500 lbs.
Loved the happy ending for the goose widow and widower
I remember a similarly tear-jerking story about a penguin couple a few years ago.
I love the woman’s response to the odds of finding a bachelor goose:
“In Iowa?”
Yes, that was quite the love story.
