Happy Caturday and welcome to the open thread. Every cat is quirky and unique, and so it is with this beautiful stripey girl from reader Georgiana Y.:
I’ve had cats all my life but never one quite like Skye! She is clumsy and not graceful at all, she moves more like a bulldog than a cat. Also I had hoped that her obsession with chewing the cords of things like chargers would pass as she grew older but, sadly, no. As I often tell her, it’s a good thing that she’s so cute!
Happy Caturday! Skye is a pretty girl. ❤ It’s dreary outside but does not appear to actually be raining at the moment. I got a new computer, which my dad ordered last week and was supposed to be delivered last Friday. On Friday it was supposedly sitting in a hub half an hour away and they changed the delivery date to Sunday. On Sunday it still said the same thing and never showed up. On Monday my dad contacted them and they said it was “lost.” So they reordered it and it came Thursday. Yesterday morning I dropped my old computer off to my dad so he could transfer all my stuff to the new one. But apparently he was having issues so I don’t know when I’m getting it. In the meantime I’m using my work laptop to check email and whatnot. He’s keeping my old computer because he wants to play with it (which is why he was bugging me to get a new one, which I sorely needed, anyway, but I’m lazy and indecisive and a huge procrastinator).
Also my parents were married 54 years on Thursday (which would also have been Pablo’s birthday, if Chihuahuas could live 24 years…).
So We Rate Dogs has always had the Top Five Dogs of the Week, but only posted it on Facebook and Instagram. They recently started posting them on YouTube, as well, and then expanded it to ten dogs! (But only on YouTube.) I’m happy to report that the dogs were good again.
I have had many packages get “lost” when they were supposed to be delivered by USPS! Especially since now
UPS gives the post office the stuff THEY were supposed to deliver that then “disappears”.
It came from Amazon but I don’t know who actually delivered it. I went to my parents’ to drop off their anniversary card after work on Thursday and the box was sitting on the front porch (along with blinds for the bathroom). I brought the packages in and my parents got home from dinner not long after that. My dad unpacked the computer and we spent a few minutes trying to figure out where the power button was. It’s actually just a key on the keyboard.
I just asked my dad if he would prefer cash or a check for the computer and my mom replied with “cash, all singles”…I can make that happen. 😏
The dogs are FANTASTIC this week! I love this series and need to subscribe to the Youtube channel.
Congrats to your parents!
And good luck with the computer.
They also post the We Walk Dogs videos there.
I subscribed as soon as I spotted the channel. I also enjoy his We Walk Dogs.
Cuteness IS a get out of jail card! I don’t know how many times my mini-lop, Theo, deliberately, EVILly,
chewed on furniture, CORDS of any kind, my clothes, the woodwork, door frames,
blankets—like the patchwork quilt one😠—, and a million things I can’t think of right now!!
And yet, that cute, furry, kissable face always kept him safe!😘
I love the way Skye is keeping a firm hold of the bed.
Well, I took part in the Shakespeare Birthday Celebrations here in Stratford upon Avon this morning and the weather is FABULOUS! Vanessa Redgrave spoke a few words before the procession started but I couldn’t see her because she was a) obscured by the crowd and b) in a wheelchair. I was amused to see a man holding a full-grown Shiba Inu in his arms so it could watch the Fire Brigade band marching past, and much additional cuteness was provided by the fact that a fiel near Anne Hathaway’s Cottage was full of frolicking lambs.
I really enjoyed the non-Shakespeare play last night and look forward to “Love’s Labour’s Lost” this evening.
That sounds simply lovely. Enjoy your weekend.
Tippy tap.
Skye, cuteness is like a magical spell. Keeps you out of trouble, everything you do will be considered totes adorb, and you’ll get tons of treats and attention. And she is totes adorb, love her markings.
Grey morning here that’s supposed to turn sunny later. Talking dogs to park shortly then out to breakfast. This afternoon, off to the Lego club meeting. Tomorrow is errands, and sometime I have to clean – got fur tumbleweeds rolling through the house. Happy weekend everyone!
Good Morning Everyone! Skye is absolutely beautiful. And yes, cuteness will get you forgiven for anything. Case in point: last weekend I discovered that my two voids have been having a peeing contest in my tool bag. I did not catch it in time and now my two wrenches, set of socket wrenches, screw driver and a few clamps are completely rusted and good for nothing. sigh. To top it off? The tool bag was five feet away from a perfectly functional and clean litter box. Both are zonked out on my legs in bed at the moment. Completely forgiven. I don’t think I need anything urgently, so I’ll probably wait to replace things. The West Philly Tool Library is having an annual fund raising sale next month. Maybe I can pick a few things up for cheaper than the big box stores.
Running errands today and tomorrow is Stitch & Bitch. Looking forward to that.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Yes it’s a good thing Skye is cute sometimes but right now it’s Minnie that is my big problem.
She insist on sleeping on me at night like she always did and it’s just not possible anymore because of the pain in my back. Sometimes it’s not too bad she comes and lies on me for a few minutes and I’ll gently push her off and she’ll sleep next to me or goes and sleep somewhere else but for the last two night I got almost no sleep because she kept coming back to try to sleep on me over and over again. I soon as I would start to fall asleep she would try to lie on me and the pain would wake me up.
I’m totally exhausted. I think I’m going to try to sleep with my bedroom door closed tonight I just hope she won’t scratch at the door too much.
Funny how being illegally cute can get you out of anything.
Today, I’m focusing only on good stuff.
Dermatologist decided yesterday that the biopsy wouldn’t be needed, as the previous (painful as h—-) injections seemed to be dealing with the problem, and the lesions are healing.
Hubby thought car was going to have to be replaced as it was refusing to start, even with numerous jumps. Bought a new battery as a last resort, and while installing new battery, discovered that the battery connectors were broken. Bought new connectors, installed them, installed new battery, and car is good for now.
Gorgeous weather outside.
Off to pick up my forty kgs of free compost and do some gardening this afternoon.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Skye is so beautiful–I’m bowled over every time I see her. She looks so comfy and happy too.
We’re getting our usual third-week-of-April snow right now. It’s just flurries, and it won’t stick. Snow on the flowering fruit trees is kinda magical. But it was in the 80s last weekend!
I talked myself into doing errands tomorrow instead of today. A morning at the loom, with a great audiobook playing and maybe a fire in the fireplace, will be perfect.
Hi everyone. Linking to pic of some day-old goslings. The parents, Ed and Carol, have been nesting near my house for at least two generations. https://www.instagram.com/p/C6CHw4NR73a/?igsh=eWc2ZzFzdHFiOWxl
