Happy Caturday! This looks like a painting. Definitely what I’d like for dessert.
We’re doing our “official” Thanksgiving at my uncle’s today (my mom made roast chicken on Thursday; my cousins were both at their in-laws on the actual holiday so my aunt and uncle came up here for dinner). I need to be at my parents’ by noon but I need to get Dramamine for the ride to my uncle’s; I want to leave by 11 so I can stop at CVS and have time for it to kick in. (I realized last night that I have two pills left, which is enough, but it expired a year and a half ago. I doubt it would hurt me but it might not actually work and I don’t really want to risk it since I already have a headache.)
Olive is 12! (Yesterday; the description says he was uploading on her birthday, even though he mentions it being “next week” in the video.)
That might be my favorite Olive and Mabel video of all time. Simply beautiful in every way.
Olive as a baby💙
I know!!!
I had to hold my heart.
We also celebrated Thanksgiving on Saturday. I spent the whole day precooking everything, and just when I was putting the turkey in the oven, the circuit breaker blew. Seems we have a short… so we had to pack up everything and take it to bf’s sister’s house. I cooked dinner for 8 in a kitchen the size of a broom closet! it tasted good, guests were more than satisfied with their first ever Thanksgiving, but I am exhausted. I scored two badges on my fitness tracker: 150 intensity minutes in one day, and 200 intensity minutes in one day.
Oh, and the dogs were good again. (And full of rage; I can relate…)
Even the puppy looks exhausted by the ordeal!
These videos always get me right in the feels. Some make me laugh, and others make my allergies avt up – sniff sniff. Pom pom with a branch sounds like my Thor, so small but so fierce.
“Tiny but full of rage” describes me to a T.
Just can’t say enough that I truly LOVE these videos! Always brings smiles☺️
Just a little add-on about all the good that their merch does.
I love this group so much. They add so much happiness and goodness to the world.
Yes, they’ve been mentioning their sale this weekend lately.
So cool that they are able to help so many dogs!
Cereal packet prizes have improved A LOT since I was a kid…
The highlight of last week at the Shortcakery was putting up the Christmas decorations. I also decided to use the British Newspaper Archive to compile another book, this time devoted to comic and curious incidents in the history of York. Also also, the scruffy vacant land at the end of my street has now been cleared and is much bigger than I thought, with enough room for three new houses. It’s amazing how much the area has changed since I moved here in 2016.
We have our first snow!
I woke up this morning to see actual snow on the ground! Granted it barely covers the grass and it’s not going to stay since the temperature will go up to above freezing today but it’s not even a month to Christmas it’s just not normal for us to have no snow.
I wish you all a good weekend.
We had our first snow Friday! Temps are gonna stay low for a while so it’s still clumping around. Very pretty.
Now that is one pie I could prepare every week. Is it like in the nursery rhyme where kitty pops up from the crust? Had a quiet last few days here just relaxing. Thanksgiving was quiet, just the two of us. Went and saw the new Gladiator movie and then went out to eat. Yesterday puttered around the house for bit, took doggos to the park, did some laundry, and saw Moana 2 at the theatre. Off to a nut farm later this morning to check out their Christmas Market. Today or tomorrow I’ll attempt some house cleaning before putting up the Christmas decorations. That’s if I can dig them out from the storage shed. I tried getting the Halloween ones in Oct and couldn’t since they were so buried. Cleaning out and organizing the shed is another project on the to-do list that may get done this weekend or next month.
Have a great weekend everyone! For those with the snow, stay warm.
That IS a cute kitty. I would definitely offer some milk!
Happy Caturday, everyone! Yesterday I looked for this post but of course it was Friday. My sense of time is completely out of whack with a 4-day weekend. But I’m willing to deal with disorientation because 4-DAY WEEKEND!!!
I’m about to get back to the loom. My current project will be very slow, which is good for me. Normally I can speed through my weaving because the loom’s shafts go up and down smoothly. On this one, the shafts do not go down smoothly and slowing down will allow me to check everything carefully on each pick of the weft. It’s just going to take forever to finish.
When I need to get up and move around, I’ll hang some new lights on my balcony. They will be permanent fixtures because the remote can change their colors for different holidays or whatever. The indoor holiday decorations won’t take long and then I’ll be ready.
Hugs to you all. Enjoy whatever weather you’re getting, and stay warm.
Happy weekend, everyone. Beautiful cutie-pie, the sun makes your ears different colours.
This was an incredibly intense week, but several family issues finally got resolved, and I am more at peace than I have been for a while.
Crazy busy week coming up, but good busy.
Have a great weekend, everyone.
Congrats on family resolutions and PEACE!☮️
I forgot to mention how pretty this little kitty is! Perfect for a cutie-pie!
Hope folks had a good week.
Finally got home after a trip from a very warm metaphysical place but with freezing arctic weather.
Highlight was getting thrown out of a hotel. They are unable to run my card that the airline rental agency, holiday inn Wawa, and several other vendors had no problems using but apparently my card is not valid and Expedia insisted that they cancel my reservation. A fact that Expedia layer dispelled.
Was bothered because they didn’t even call me, but they did call, just didn’t bother to leave a message. Then when the one manager asking, via FaceTime mind you, if I was F___ing stupid, it was on.
OMGosh!😳 Sending bunny kisses and peacefulness your way!
That gives a whole new meaning to “I’d like to talk to the manager.”
Kar, I’m so sorry! Sounds like the trip to/from hell! And that’s no way to handle customer service.
A sad day – just back from my uncle’s wake. A sudden pneumonia and a very rapid decline in his health led to his unfortunate but not entirely unexpected passing. We had just travelled with my 85 year old mom to literally the other side of the planet for a family reunion, so serendipitously a lot of family was together when it happened, which was a huge relief.
It’s nice to have The Qte to help refresh one’s spirits after such a day. And the friend with whom we’re staying has a lovely German Short Haired Pointer who sensed that my mom needed doggy snuggles and a warm doggy head on her lap today!
😞hugs
Sympathy on your loss. It’s good you were able to be with family.
Condolences to you and your family. 🤍
We’re here for you.
So very sorry for your loss. We’re sending virtual hugs and purrs.
Oh so sorry to hear about your uncle.
I am glad that the family could share their grief and memories together but hate that it was such a sudden passing.
