Looking back at the times when a gang of macaques tried to monkey with Maru, but the brave boy stood his ground — until he remembered it was dinner time.

Who could forget the Great Croc Heist? Until I saw that video I had no idea that monkeys could be found in urban Japan. Neither did Miri, judging by her hasty exit!
I wonder what it’s like to live somewhere that monkeys might just come hang out in your yard. 🐒
I know they generally don’t wear shoes in the house in a lot of Asian countries, but do they just leave them outside all the time? Or is it just that occasionally they just happen to have been left out there when she’s filming? I’d still want to store them inside somewhere so they stay cleaner (and not be cold or wet when it’s time to put them on…). Though it seems to only be Crocs out there, so maybe they’re just garden shoes. (I don’t wear shoes in the house most of the time; I keep my most-worn shoes in a hanging shoe organizer in my front closet, so they don’t go much past the entryway. Less-worn shoes are in the bedroom closet and I probably haven’t touched most of them in years.)
Maru knows what’s important <3 breakfast!
I’m super late to the party today!
I guess in Japan having monkeys come to your backyard is like bears doing the same here.
Maru was not afraid of anything or anyone. Love him snoozing on his food bowl. 😻
